I was on Yahoo and I was absolutely thrilled that Disney announced this:
Before it leaves the airwaves, Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie will introduce viewers to a family parented by two moms.
In a statement to TV Guide Magazine, which first reported on the news, a Disney Channel spokesperson said, “This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors. Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”
The comments are pretty great, too.
ABC Family, also Disney, has a new show called The Fosters. It's about two women, one's biological son, their adopted twins and two foster kids. I actually really like it so far.
I didn't think we'd ever see something like this on Disney Channel. That's awesome!
Cue One Million Moms!
OMG!! This has always been such a taboo topic for Disney Channel. I always thought gays didn't existed in Disney universe since the closest they've come to acknowledging their existence was in one of the early episodes of HM, when Billy Ray finds Jackson wearing his sister's clothing and says something like, "this is what you get for bringing the family to California."
I'm thrilled about this news!
Here's a clip from the episode! Love that Disney Channel did this! Definitely a step in the right direction! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KoEBdCsrOVs&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DKoEBdCsrOVs
