I can't quite put my finger on it but for some reason I find Orson Welles an amazingly attractive man. I think a big part of it is his voice. He has, quite possibly, the most amazingly sexy male voice I've ever heard. Add to that artistic genius and...yeah...
Even when he was old and fat, he still retained his mysterious mystique. In fact, I think his weight gain INCREASED his sexiness. Maybe because he looked a bit like Santa Claus and I find Santa Claus...well...that's for another thread.
only after a couple of boxes of wine...

I always get him mixed up with Raymond Burr. Both were rather sexy in their day.
He was appropriately brooding as Rochester in Jane Eyre, and appropriately heartless in The Third Man, but other than that it was the voice that was so appealing.
Perhaps if I were on LSD.

I will dig out photos of myself in makeup as Orson Welles for a college project. I will then attept to fufill fantasies for those of you with exquisite taste.
I'm constantly astounded at what people find attractive. To answer your question, NO!

Crazy, no? Almost like it's a matter of personal taste or something!
There will be NO personal taste around here.
Only conventional.
If you don't like what everyone else likes, then get the hell out!
And to answer the question... I find real TALENT attractive. Always have.

I don't think I ever found him physically attractive, even during his slimmer days. But from what I've read and seen of him in interviews, he seems to have come across as a very attractive guy. He was apparently very funny and a great storyteller.
In a nutshell, I'd rather have had dinner with Orson Welles than Brad Pitt.

Exactly, besty! I think talent can make up for a lack of good looks because looks aren't really that important, at least not to me. Hygiene, on the other hand, is paramount.
Young Orson, YES.
Olser Orson, No.
everyone knows that looks are ALL that's important...looks and money.

He was inarguably attractive-- he managed to attract some of the most spectacular women in the world: Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, Rita Hayworth, Delores Del Rio, virtaully a who's who of sex bombs...
I'd need to drink alot of Paul Mason wine to git with him...

I don't care what they look like as long as they're loaded. Power and money are aphrodisiacs to me (also my weakness).

SM, I see you are shallow in your own way.
One of these days, Cruel, you'll have sex with someone, rendering these threads moot...in the meantime...
I DID find Vincent D'Onofrio as Orson sexy in ED WOOD, but no, can't say that I'd want to roll around with Charles Foster...

Those Paul Masson ads paid Welles more than his directing career ever did. And, in three years, made Paul Masson the #1 winery in the United States.
And if you don't believe me, say "We will sell no wine before it's time" in a basso profundo voice to anyone who was of drinking age in the 70's and see if they don't recognize.
It wouldn't take much for Orson to make more than he did as a director...AMBERSONS was on a double bill with some Lupe Velez potboiler I think--maybe Maria Montez....
I wrote and directed a short called 'Homage' about a man who quits his day job to become an Orson Welles party impersonator, and then dangerously emulates him by gaining 150 pounds and growing a beard.
My buddy Jon played Orson... I wrote the script for him because he looks like the 20-something Welles.
With a beard, made-up to look old
