I hope not, but considering that his music is all over the radio today, it's not out of the question.
Absolutley. Then again, that didn't really happen with Winona Ryder, but he IS after all, Michael Jackson.
I think he can and I hope he does. I do love his music.
I still watch "Thriller" like everyday.
I think it is absolutly possible for MJ to have a comeback. He's an amazing performer, and there is no denying that. And, by the way...he wasn't found guilty because there was no proof. They proved that he is a strange guy. We all knew that. But being strange and different does not mean that he is a child molestor.
It all depends on which child's back he is coming on.....
yes, I said it.
Put him in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and folks'll eat it up.
AHH coffee everywhere! Thanks for that one TheatreDiva, is it okay if I sue you to get a new computer?
The only reason that I think he can NOT make a comeback, is because, artistically and stylistically, he is permanently and hopelessly stuck in the 80s. He was great then, but things have moved on way ahead of him !
Contents are considered hot.....
The question is whether or not he can make a comeback in the U.S. Elsewhere, the answer is absolutely. Here, it all depends on
1. the music
2. his image
3. whether or not he stops sleepovers--I hope he doesn't stop inviting families to Neverland.
4. whether or not people can stop hating and stop "knowing" he is guilty when they do not.
Wait. What self-respecting mother would send her child for a sleep over with Michael Jackson? AH HA MICHAEL IS INNOCENT!
this whole thing reminds me of an old law and order svu episode... it was based on michael jackson, and after he was found innocent he had a big party at his house with all these kids...
There’s an interesting article about this on msn.com.
Even if you push the child molestation allegations aside, he’s still made himself into such a freak (all the “Peter Pan” crap, the bizarre facial surgeries, the creepy marriages, the whole messiah/martyr bullsh*t), that it’s next to impossible to separate his image from his music. I heard “Billie Jean” on my way to work this morning and it just made me sad.

You're right, there was no proof, but just because they couldn't prove it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
::sarcasm:: oh, but he has a skin condition making him so pale and freaky looking... ::end sarcasm::
there is a skin condition that makes people's skin fade to pure white, but I doubt he has it... it also doesn't change the shape of your face and your nose every three years.
but people have thought he was a freak since the late 80s. The only thing that halted his huge comeback during "Dangerous" and his SuperBowl performance was the 93 allegations. He even moderately survived that. I think the reason his album sales of late have been disappointing are because he has not evolved musically. If he can do that, he could possibly revive his career in the U.S.
That's true, shameless. I just don't think people should condemn him. That's the reason why we have the saying "innocent until proven guilty". I know that if I was accused of doing something that I didn't do and was pronounced "not guilty", I wouldn't want people to treat me like I was guilty.
Then again, I'm not Michael Jackson...he shouldn't have kids in his bed anyway.
Good point, jrb, look at R Kelly.
RE: "but people have thought he was a freak since the late 80s"
No jrb, people thought he was odd and eccentric. He's moved way beyond that in the last decade.
I do agree with you, though, about his not evolving musically and how it's hurt him.
no, ncguy, watch the "Leave Me Alone" video which parodies all of the bizarre rumors that people thought of him--the shrine to Elizabeth Taylor, the hyperbaric chamber, the Elephant Man's bones, etc etc. The only difference between now and then is that an accusation of molestation is the most damning thing you can say of a person. Just look at some of the folks on here who refuse to let up.
They say there is no such thing as bad publicity--excepting this.

Of course, R Kelly is forgiven because he loves the young LADIES.
Let us not underestimate the homophobia factor.
And, AbbaRabbit, you're remarkably unrelenting in your condemnation of somebody ELSE'S disabilities and difficulties that THEY have tried to survive, (terrible child abuse!), aren't you?
rabbits are an unrelenting species...
Don't they eat their young?
I can't talk about MJ anymore, it's too damn depressing.
