Just wanted to give a heads up that the new series of Doctor Who continues on Sci-Fi this Friday, with the first episode starring Catherine Tate as the new companion. I've heard great things about the new episodes, as it's about 3 weeks into the new series in the UK. Also look out for the returns of Rose and Martha this series as well.
Also, keep a lookout for the "season premiere" (really the most recent Christmas special) of Doctor Who that aired this weekend, co-starring Kylie Minogue and Russell Tovey.

The new series is very good. Well written as always, and the same fabulous acting by David Tennant. I am yet to be wooed by Catherine Tate, can't seem to get past her sketch show but hopefully this will pass with time.
It's definatley worth a watch!

Haven't watched Voyage of the Damned yet, that's on my viewing schedule for this evening.
Not being familiar with Catherine Tate's sketch show, I actually liked her as Donna in the Runaway Bride, which I saw on BBC America in January. I'm looking forward to series four, but as I'm going to be in London the next two Fridays, that pleasure is going to have to wait until I get back.
I do love David Tennant as the Doctor -- Family of Blood is one of my favorites. I thought his performance in that was outstanding.
While I'm in London, I'm going to visit the Dr. Who exhibit at Earl's Court.

Catherine Tate is exactly what the new series needed.
Another Tegan. Somebody who isn't doe-eyed and in luuuvvv with the Doctor. She is open and opinionated and an equal to the Doctor, and quiet happy to tell him where to shove it if the need arises.
That is where I felt Martha was sadly a let down (plus Jack to the same degree as well actually) - strong characters who ultimately fell a little flat due to the unrequited love stuff.
Plus Catherine Tate's comic timing, is quiet brilliant. And after this current episode just past (Planet of the Ood) it is safe to say she also can act very very well (no spoilers, just saying that women has a suprisingly great acting range on her - greater then her (granted deliberately two-demenional) standup work would have you to believe).

I'm saving up the fourth series on DVR while I finish up season three on DVD. I just watched Blink last night - not much of the Doctor in it, but what a creepy episode! I had nightmares about those damn statues!
Overall season three has been very solid, but I miss Rose. Looking forward to FINALLY catching up!
