The MSM is turning on Pelosi. On certain key bills since Obama sealed the party nomination, she's either been unable to flip a few members of the opposition party when the Dems most needed the votes or irked her party's loyalists, e.g. TARP, Big 3 bailout, Digital TV transition delay, latest economic stimulus package, etc.
Several Feminists with a capital F colleagues of mine are starting to suggest that the MSM has problems with her gender but I think her chromosomes are irrelevant. I just don't find her effective as a House Speaker in the current political climate. However, I'm often at odds with her so I shouldn't complain.

add to this her recent gaffe that 500 million americans a month would lose their jobs until the stimulus bill was passed (yeah, she said it twice in different interviews).
i can see why the feminists would claim sexism. the problems that are coming to the surface are ones of her being too controlling and unwilling to compromise. she's too strong, i.e. she's a bitch.
the problem with that argument is that the claims are right. the bills that have been going through have been written by a few people at the top and the rest of the house is being told, "this is the bill and you will vote for it."
granted the msm cannot help themselves but go to the iron lady and queen nancy references. they are hard wired to do so. just like they do the same with the gop or the democrats. it's not sexism as much as it is laziness and an a belief that unless you label everything as simplistically and outrageously as possible people will not read about it.
all that said, she's getting some ugly ink and it doesn't reflect well on obama's "post-partisan" administration.

Posted: 2/5/09 at 11:07amI've never liked her, and don't think her style fits in very well with Obama and his "let's work together to get this done" attitude. Pelosi seems to be a remnant of the Bush-era of incredibly polarizing, partisan politics.
