Thanks Undiscovered.
I am kind of interested in hearing other adult's point of view on this. Anyone?

I am a teenager as well, 16. Sometimes I too get annoyed with some threads but I choose to ignore them. I love this board and love learning new things.

P.S. Now I know some of my favorite posters are near my age, and I never would have guessed.

EDIT: Though with some people, you can tell their youth.

I'm 13 and I don't do that, or at least I try not to do that. And I agree with NTG, you shouldn't generalize like that since you've been here for such a short time.

I think what annoys me most are those unhealthily obssessed with Wicked. Yes, I love that show, and the music, but when people post things like the only thing they like is Wicked because it's the only show that gave them the chills, or watching Wizard of Oz and thinking of Margaret Hamilton as Elphaba (when she really wasn't Elphaba, but the Wicked Witch of the West), then I find it to be a little too much.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I like Wicked, but I'm not obsessed with it! And I'm not obsessed with Rent.

i'm 16, a senior in high school, and looking to go to theatre school next year....i've taken college courses in the history of theatre and music and have performed in everything from shakespeare to opera to new musicals to the classics.

and you think i only know about theatre from the past 5 years?

i think i'm just as qualified to talk about theatre as anyone else.
i don't think my age automatically makes me a wicked-obsessed, renthead teeny-bopper with nothing better to do than argue about whether kristin chenoweth is absolutely perfect or not. i like wicked and rent to an extent; but i also love sondheim, gershwin, kander&ebb, cole porter, puccini, mozart - most of which are from before my time.

some of the best posts on this site can come from the younger members - and i hope you can recognize that.

thank you,
maggie

and thank you, undiscovered.

ok PUBLIC APOLOGY for offending anyone with this. But, if you are an informed young person than why ewere you offended. What does it matter what I think huh? Also let me state that my thoughts were based on posts I read that gave away the posters age in their screen name. Only one of you who replied gives away their age in their screen name. So,how could I have been commenting on the rest of you when I had no idea of your age.
Plus I believe my first comment was about how we are all entitled to our own opinions.
The well informed young in any subject are unfortunately the minority in the times we live in.
THIS WAS NOT AN ATTACJ JUST THOUGHTS.

P.S.I teach young kids and I love them. I'm not being mean it was just a bad day.
