Who can forget John Belushi's immortal words , in a russian accent , "I would like, to feed your fingertips , to the wolverines "
I am old enough to have remembered watching it live. A great career cut short but thank god for video tape & film

Posted: 2/13/05 at 2:01pmI haven't seen a decent episode since 1990. It's mostly juvenile junior high humor with little wit or intelligence now.

I do not think I have watched a full 90 minutes since Eddie Murphy left
I think of a great SNL episode as one that holds my interest until weekend Update. Even good episodes go down the drain after that.

Posted: 2/13/05 at 6:20pmVery true. At that 12:30am mark, the filler sketches come into play. I only watch now for Weekend Update and the occasional musical guest (especially this season, they've been more entertaining than the guest hosts!).

Posted: 2/13/05 at 6:28pmThe problem with SNL nowadays is that while it has always been about showing a more humorous side to a featured pop culture celeb, it used to be done with biting satire. Even when I watch old episodes from the 70s/80s, I STILL find the parodies and jokes hilarious. Nowadays, the sketches are done for the sole purpose of celebrity mugging and some misguided idea that Horatio Sanz's inability to keep a straight face is somehow funny.

Posted: 2/13/05 at 6:50pmI've always enjoyed SNL. I remember in 8th grade, the way to be "in" with my drama teacher was to know skits from the show. She loved it. Since then, I've been a big fan. I think that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are hilarious, and I have a tiny crush on Maya Rudolph

Posted: 2/13/05 at 7:37pmI miss the early days of SNL in the 70's. Belushi, Radner, Curtain, Chase.........were the best. Today, SNL seems very childish. Maybe that is not the word I am looking for. Perhaps it startred to dwindle because it was just too much of a good thing.
