Does anyone here go to Asbury Park-photo added

I'll be participating in the Art Fair on the boardwalk this Sunday, selling my photos. If anyone will be around there, please drop by and say hi!

I was in one of these a couple of weeks ago in Ocean Grove and did quite well! Also, it's fun to meet and talk to people about my work!

What's happening to me, I'm turning into a social being-oy.

Oh, that would be great, boobsie! It'll be on the boards near convention hall. From 11 am to about 3, I think.

Robbo, I had a picture of me as my av a while back-Namo saw that I wasn't the "nana" he thought I was~

I live nearby, so I'll try to stop by...I worked the Ocean Grove fair (no comments) to help a friend sell her stuff, and had alot of fun.

There are two craft fairs in OG each year, I believe...Its a pretty fun day, if it's not too hot. The other vendors can be pretty cutthroat, so be careful!

re: Does anyone here go to Asbury Park?

Oh boy did I find that out! I was surrounded on one side by a power vendor who hung his work right along with mine! I had to explain to everyone that it wasn't mine.

On the other side, I had a guy who was the artist of his stuff and a salesman of the top order. He had them lining up! Even when it started pouring and everyone was runnning with their stuff to the car, he was bargaining with a customer!

anyway, I'm not too worried, doodle, my stuff is unique. there isn't anyone doing the same thing as I am! At least at these fairs!

oh-btw, doodle. I'm not in the craft fairs. Just the art ones. They don't allow crafts in the ones I go to.

Oh please...I dont get offended by NJ slams...they're usually accurate! Besides, I'm at least not FROM there!

Still Asbury has made alot of progress and is looking good on the boardwalk these days. Are you going to be on the north or south side of the convention center?

re: Does anyone here go to Asbury Park?

Supposedly it starts right in front of the old Howard Johnson's and extends towards the Convention Center. So I guess that would be south side? If it rains, it's going inside the Center. Yay.

re: Does anyone here go to Asbury Park?

South side, yes...the old Howard Johnsons is now called The Beach Club, or something like that...glad they didnt tear down the building, but they charged me $20 for one crab cake...and it still looks like a HoJos! Here's an old pic of the landmark:

Wow, I don't remember it ever looking so good!

I guess the prices reflect the Renaissance which is going on there!

did you know that shoebies is a term coined at the jersey shore about people who would come to the beach and were too poor to buy food that that brought their food in shoeboxes. thus, the term "shoebies."
