Are these a complete genre on their own? I just got "Straight Talk" on dvd for, like $5, and even though it's not high art, I was transfixed. What a fantastically dumb concept. Someone should organize a Dolly film festival.
I love Dolly Parton.
Hmm, must put something on my iPod.

It's like when Reba went into ANNIE GET YOUR GUN - a completely natural entertainer is discovered. I think it has EVERYTHING to do with their integrity as human beings. Dolly is as real as they come, and it just pours forth like honey.
BTW, it's obviously fluff entertainment, but I loved STRAIGHT TALK. And NINE TO FIVE is still one of my favorites - what a trio!
Let's not forget Miss Mona and her "no no rules".

Glebb - when I think of that movie, I get stuck on all those boys - I wish!
I guess their little speedo tan lines in the shower are just as silly as the rest of the movie, but when I think of that film, I picture Dolly at the top of the stairs in her Mae West dress and feathered fan.

One of the reasons that I've always prayed that Dolly would do Dolly!
My wish also D!
I visited her museum at Dollywood again two weeks ago. Divine!
And yes, I'm gay, gay, gay!!!!!!

SOMMS - Please! Look at our icons - is there any doubt?
Isn't Dollywood a kick? Did you see the Graham Norton special when he went there? Too fun

Now that's a CD for my collection....I still enjoy listening to her rendition of "Stairway to Heaven"
In her concert tour she opens with "Hello Dolly." Her "Imagine" is beyond breath taking and her "Me And Bobby MCGee" is fun. I'm looking forward to this album as well.
Anyway, back on track let's not forget RHINESTONE! Am I the only person who adored that film? I think I still have it on Beta somewhere.
LOVE HUH! i just know that musical she is writing will be sparkling!

Is that true? Are you teasing me? Is Dolly really writing a musical?
I am also a Dolly fan (just don't tell my husband!) Just adore "Nine to Five"

Tell your husband. Stand up and be proud. I hope she's working on a full musical version of "9 to 5". That would be special. Kristin Chenoweth could do her role.
Cheno playing Doralee makes me want to vomit!
I think he knows (tee hee) I sometimes sing Nine to Five in the morning.
I think Cheno would make a cute Doralee.
Bellamy Young would make a great Doralee!
Thank God someone finally mentioned Rhinestone!
I actually have the DVD of that.

But who would you have doing the Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin roles?
Lilias White as Violet(Lily Tomlin)"A little dignity and a little respect!" and Emily Skinner as Judy(Jane Fonda) "Stay calm! Remain Calm!"
Maybe Jeff McCarthy as Hart(Dabney Coleman)?
