re: 'Don't touch that squirrel's nuts'

Speaking of nuts, I was in an ice cream parlor where they mix the ice cream on a cooled stone with toppings. There was a teenaged guy behind the counter and I asked him what kind of nuts he had. I was serious because I wanted nuts with my ice cream. I'm not allowed in there anymore.

Thenardier, if you pay close attention, you'll realize this isn't a remake. Tim Burton's made it very clear that, while yes the first film was wildly popular and is a classic if there ever was one, he never thought it stayed true enough to the book and wasn't as dark as it needed to be. So he's doing his own version. It's a ****ty line between remakes and new versions, and it's always hard to go into either with a fresh view, you've always got that first one to recall from. But regardless, it's not a remake. re: 'Don't touch that squirrel's nuts'

I laughed out loud when I heard that line. I want to see the movie.

I agree completely with Joekv99.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I don't know this story, at all. I've never read it, and I never saw the original film. I can't say that anything about the trailer makes me want to see it, though. It looks like a freak show. Is that the point?

NO. The original was completely terrifying...and I'm talking about the radio broadcast. Then the movie was creepy as hell...its got real possibilities with Spielberg at the helm - but I'm afraid they may have changed the plot too much to adapt to Cruise's particular talents (or lack thereof).

redhot, I was speaking about The Chocolate Factory, not War of the Worlds, which I have seen (heard).

re: 'Don't touch that squirrel's nuts'

As long as the Oompa Loompa's don't sing that creepy song, I will be ok. It freaks me out every time because I used to be just like Veruca and I was scared that I would be a bad egg and then the Oompa Loompas would sing their song.

Yes, I know...it's not a "remake" it's a "reimagining"....just like BEWITCHED isn't realy based on the TV series. How stupid do they think we are? The box office receipts speaketh the truth: NO MORE REMAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re: 'Don't touch that squirrel's nuts'

I just watched a bunch of scenes on yahoo movies and loved what I saw. The Oompa-Loompa's are great and the kids are perfect. Veruca has a very interesting smile.

I cannot wait for this movie! I really wasn't a huge fan of Johnny Depp but after seeing the trailer he looks fabulous in the role and the visuals look absolutely stunning
