Doxy Leaves Europe - Do Widzenia! Bon Voyage!

Well, it's come to that time. Thi time last year, I was leaving my lovely home country of Australia, and journeying out to the wide blue yonder that is Europe...

A year later, several thousand dollars, 17 countries and a whole heap of friends, it is time to go back.

This time tomorrow I will be on the second part of my three-leg flight to Australia...It's surreal...

Poland has become my home, and I can't imagine life without it. It will be so strange to leave it...

So, next time you talk to me, I'll be back in Australia, trying to cope with things going back to normal...

Wish me luck!

I'm more nervous about going back than I was about leaving!!!

Three-legged flight? I'm breaking out in hives just thinking about it. Good luck getting back, Doxy. And you're going back just in time; you have all the warm weather down there while we're stuck with winter. :)

I've already said this, but have a safe flight and as much of a pleasant trip as 34 hours in a plane will allow you!

Yeah Plum, unfortunately, my stupid EXPENSIVE ticket requires I stop in 4 places, but once is just for refuelling. I only fly in 3 planes. And Tiff is exactly right, it's 34 hours...

It'll be tough, but I can't wait to see all my nieces, my nephew, my siblings, my parents, my friends...

Gah. Like I said, I'm breaking out in hives of terror just thinking about it- the longest I've ever spent on a journey of any kind was 20 hours, and that was with a delay.

Do what I did coming back from London- I bought a giant (and I mean giant) book of Sudoku puzzles and dementedly completed them as the flight was delayed 3 hours and flew across that Atlantic for several more. Updated On: 1/23/06 at 05:56 PM

Safe journey home! It sounds like you had an amazing experience. Going to Europe, although it totally bankrupted my savings account, was the best thing I've ever done.

I'm home now, and everything is strangely back to normal.

I never thought I would say this (because I normally hate summer), but the weather is wonderful.

It's so nice to be home, for the moment, and I'm so glad to be back in my beautiful country.
