Richard Roeper's review is absolutely hilarious.
"Oh, my God, this movie sucks. I'll say this much: Kudos to Jim Carrey for pulling off perhaps the most amazing disappearing-act hat trick in motion-picture history. With his non-appearance in "Evan Almighty," the follow-up to the smash hit "Bruce Almighty" (2003), Carrey has now NOT appeared in three of the worst sequels of all time"

Wasn't Jim Carrey in the Ace Ventura sequel?
And did anyone expect this film to be good?
Someone did b/c they spent 200 million dollars (!!!) to make it.
This movie looks horrible.

Just because they spent 2 million to make it doesn't mean they thought it would be any good. It means they thought the public would be stupid enough to spend money on it. Do you really think that most films in Hollywood get made because the producers are betting it is going to be GOOD? No, they are betting that you will buy a ticket no matter what.
that was my point sueleen, i was being snarky and agreeing with you.
I thought this was going to be about me.
Never mind.
A friend of mine told me she saw it and it is now her favorite movie of all time. And I remember her to be quite discriminating when it came to movies... oh well. I haven't seen it so I can't judge, but I must admit I didn't expect much.
I kind of want to see it just to see how it ends. Can it still be a comedy if everyone dies?
I think Hamlet's kinda funny.
(And so is its sequel, Fortinbras. But does that still count if everyone's already dead?)

DINOSAURS ended with everyone dying and that's still a comedy...
And of course everyone dies at the end of Little Shop. The original version. Before the mucked it up.
