Just curious, how many people on this board will do early voting? Also, would be nice to know when it starts in your state and how long the lines were to vote.

In-person early voting in Maryland is from October 24-31 this year.

I did this a couple of times in the early 2010s. There are many fewer places to vote early, and my impression was that lines were quite a bit longer than I had encountered at my local precinct on election day. (It probably took me about 45 minutes total for early voting, compared to 15-20 minutes on election day, not including the extra driving time).

Since 2020 (edit: oops, not 2000!), I've been registered to receive an absentee ballot by email, which I fill out and print and then take to a nearby drop box at my convenience (which I did a few weeks ago).

I also have the ballot mailed to me, but I thought the drop boxes weren't available until early voting started.  I will check to see if the closest one is there now, and if so, I'll probably take it over in the next few days.

Thanks for the heads-up!

You did not lie; you changed your mind -lol. My wife and I did early voting because we wanted to get out of the house while renovations were being done.
