It has been reported by the president of Cyprus.that it is not terrorism, but a deranged person.

But it is an act of terrorism. It may not have been carried out by ISIL, or any other terrorist organization but hijacking a plane is an act of terrorism.

I think in today's climate, ISIS is on most people's mind with terrorism. Much of the world is in danger of it.

Is this really true? My understanding is that terrorism encompasses acts intended to frighten people for the purpose of achieving one's political ends. Violent or threatening acts for other purposes are not terrorism.

Under Title VII of the Patriot Act, any attempt to "wreck, demolish, set fire to, or disables a mass transportation vehicle or ferry" is felony terrorism.

There doesn't have to be an ideology behind it.
