Ellen D. is doing a remake of "Oh God"? Why? George Burns is rolling in his grave. Can't Hollywood think up anything original anymore?

You know what? I don't usually like re-makes on principle, but I think this will work. (The bigger issue, though, is who will play the John Denver role!!)

Admittedly, not the most original idea. But, why not? From what I understand it will have very little in common with the original film. And I think Ellen's sense of humor will befit the material. I also like the idea that God turns out to be a woman.

First of all, Ellen, who is a WONDERFUL talk host, and an amazingly funny and talented person would do great in this role. But, as for her movie choices (Mr. Wrong), I don't know how it will turn out.
And the thing I love about Ellen playing God - it's a slap in the face to homophobic middle-Americans. Thank you Casting Directors!!! (Or Pitch people!!!)
