Glad I didn't go when it was in Chicago.

"The first thing that ticked me off was the MILLIONS of school children running around the whole thing. Few guards did anything about it, although some teachers were great. Anyone not wanting to have kids driving them nuts should definately see this on the weekend."

Welcome to my world. I work at the Science Museum of Minnesota in the visiting Pompeii exhibit. I wish they'd put a 13 and up limit on it or something because the kids just can't appreciate it and the get antsy and are distracting to other visitors and I spend all day telling them to get their nasty fingers off the 2000 y/o artifacts instead of talking with visitors about the artifacts and history of the events.

The tickets were $25 here in Philadelphia so at least it didn't break the bank. I went with my friend Carol who in a past life was an archeologist. She had participated in digs in Egypt so that made it a bit interesting, but overall the entire exhibit lacks.

SOMMS, they were a lot more out here in L.A. Something like $48, as I recall. I don't remember the exact amount. I just didn't think I got my money's worth, regardless. And half the "exhibit" was walking in these long lines through a giant faux temple. It reminded me of the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.

"Why $60 Robb?"

tickets for the weekend are $32.50 each and i would need to buy two tickets. unless i went during the week and "after dark" (4 p.m.) and tickets are reduced to $25 each. oh, and of course ticketmaster has all those service fees and convenience charges.

screw it. i'll just rent "alexander" again.

The Pompeii exhibit will be in San Diego in February and we're going.....but I learned a valuable lesson when we went to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit there a couple of weeks ago, NEVER go to any exhibit in San Diego on the first Tuesday of the month......as that's free day and everyone is there.....

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956
