Slim pickings in the mini-series dept. if they had to nominate "The Andromeda Strain."
And Neil and Kristin were quite funny announcing the awards this morning.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 2:18pmI think Heigl knew she wouldn't get a nom, and that's the real reason she didn't submit herself.

Heigl wouldn't have gotten a nod, and it was a mistake to give her the award over all the other women competing last year, anyways.
I'm a bit disappointed that a series like PUSHING DAISIES got snubbed for Best Comedy over shows like ENTOURAGE and TWO AND A HALF MEN. Ugh.
Jane Krakowski truly deserved a nod for Best Supporting Actress in Comedy, and still for the life of me I do not get why that lady from SEINFELD and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE keeps getting nominated.
Oh, and snubbing Anna Friel is a travesty.
Henry Ian Cusack, Yunjin Kim, and Jorge Garcia all deserved nominations, but didn't even make it to the top 10. So did Calista Flockhart from BROTHERS & SISTERS.
Glad to see the likes of Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Neil Patrick Harris, Robert Morse and Elaine Stritch getting nominations.
Did anyone else notice all the people nominated for Best Guest Actor who come from 30 ROCK? They must really like the show.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 2:46pmall the guest actor noms for 30 Rock were deserved they were all great, rooting for either Will Arnett or Steve Blushemi and someone was taking about this but the switched it around this year a little bit SNLers were all up for supporting categories this year

I wish Judith Light or Becki Newton were in Poehler's place. Oh well.
Although I think Tina Fey is smart and capable--and I like 30 Rock--I run hot and cold with her as a SNL performer. I just don't get the worship, and don't see why people think she's brilliant (a word that's really overused today). I dunno. I just see her as more snarky than funny, and round-the-clock snark can get old pretty fast. There were women on SNL through the years who were so much funnier!

Posted: 7/17/08 at 4:25pmI think the added admiration is because she's a head writer as well as a performer, br.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 4:27pmI'm happy that Bernard and Doris was nominated, and that Susan and Ralph both got nods as well. I think I was in the minority, but I really enjoyed the movie.

Posted: 7/17/08 at 5:09pmI don't know who to root for in actor or supporting actress in a comedy. Pace or Baldwin? Chenoweth or Poehler? And personally, I think Becki Newton has done much better work than Vanessa Williams over the past season - she and Michael Urie are both long overdue for nominations.

I'm trying to figure out who didn't get nominated. I know there are at least 3 or 4 people on TV.
With 8,000 categories and divisions, there must be a few who don't make the cut. But I think pretty much everyone in Television was honored.

I think it's odd that for "Two and A Half Men", Sheen is considered lead and Cryer supporting. It seems 50/50 to me...maybe even more air time for Cryer's character than Sheen's.
I love me some Hugh Laurie (I have a crush on him too), and glad he got nominated, but the show itself ("House") is really bad (but got nominated for best drama).
