Here's a link to an interesting article in the New York Times that gives you an idea of how the script diverged from Susan Minot's novel...I sensed a bit of tension there...

I honestly enjoy Toni Collette in anything she's done. I can't wait for this film to come out.
So from what I've read Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, and Eileen Atkins have cameo roles? (just answer if there is a way to tell without any spoilers, I haven't read the book)

Posted: 6/24/07 at 12:50amI feel like I haven't seen Clair Danes in forever. I love her. Im going to love this cast. Imagine all of the awkward start-struck-edness that happened on set. So excited.

Posted: 7/9/07 at 3:53pmOkay I've been really busy with some stuff so I am only half way through the book. It was really hard to get started- I don't love the writing style. But the story is good, although really depressing. Should I be prepared to cry at the end of this?

Yes, Lola - my mother and I both had a difficult time getting into the beginning of the book. It wasn't until I was half way through that I started to get into the story or care about the characters.
I didn't cry at the end of the novel, though I was completely moved.

Posted: 7/10/07 at 9:09amI didn't read the book. Has anyone seen the movie at this point? I am not a fan of Claire Danes, so she was the only one in the cast that I really didn't like. I was excited to see Hugh Dancy and Patrick Wilson... plus the millions of stars in the movie that I have a lot of respect for.

I saw the film on 7/4 and looooved it. It is without a doubt in my top 5 all-time favorite movies. I think I like it so much because I identified with it.
