I just found out yesterday that the Everwood SERIES finale is next week! I should have known this by now, but I guess I always just assumed that it was the season finale because I didn't want to admit to myself that it was over. I've watched the show for the whole four years and have grown so attached to all the characters. Wah!! :'(

The only good thing about this is that I feel like most loose ends are tied up and the ones that aren't will be tied up next week. The show definitely has amazing writers...unlike 7th Heaven (Anyone see that finale? Oy.).

I'm so SAD! Everwood is my favourite show, as lame as some people think it is!

Yup, it was between bringing this to the CW or renewing 7th heaven (because apparently more than 30 people showed up to watch the finale, they feel that it's enough to throw in another season...oy)

7 million people tuned in for the "series finale" of 7th Heaven. The following is taken from "The Ausiello Report" on TVGuide.com:

Ausiello: There are a lot of angry Everwood fans out there. They just don't understand why it's the only "bubble" show not returning.
Ostroff: Everwood was honestly the toughest decision. It really was. We knew we wanted to make room on the schedule for at least one new drama.... And when you look at the shows that we're bringing back and what went with what, really, Everwood was the hardest show to fit into the configuration. It was really, really hard because the fans are really devoted.

Ausiello: One of the theories going around is that the moment you decided to bring 7th Heaven back, Everwood died.
Ostroff: (Crickets) It was, you know... it really came down to those two shows. It was such a tough call. Look, we're launching a new network, we wanted to have the best shot we could. Not only for the new network, but also for Runaway, which is a family drama.

Ausiello: Did you ever think about keeping both 7th Heaven and Everwood? They have a pretty good thing going on Monday night.
Ostroff: The thing is, Everwood couldn't really start the night. We looked at the ratings for Everwood, and leading off the night...

Ausiello: No, I'm talking about leaving Everwood where it is at 9 pm after 7th Heaven.
Ostroff: We wanted to put a new show on the air, and Runaway is a really good show. We couldn't have the whole schedule of returning shows.

Ausiello: What about giving Everwood a 13-episode commitment? That way, if Runaway tanks, Everwood could be on deck to fill in.
Ostroff: (Sigh) We wanted to try something new.

Ausiello: I hear the decision to renew Heaven was made after the ratings for the finale came in. True?
Ostroff: It [drew] over seven million people. It's hard to ignore that.

So you can thank Dawn Ostroff for being a dumb bitch. I however don't want to speak too badly of her--she did bring back Veronica Mars afterall.

The 7th Heaven "finale" drew 7 million viewers the way a train wreck draws a crowd. People tuned in to see if it could possibly be as bad as they thought it would be. It was worse.

I read somewhere that they shot two endings for Everwood. One if the series was going to continue and one if the series ended. I also like the show very much. If every writes in to Channel 11 maybe they will try to save it.

The show is dead. One of the executive producers has moved on to Everwood. They did shoot too finales. If you want more info, dig around on TVGuide.com or look at Watch With Kristin on Eonline.com. Both sites covered the Everwood cancelation pretty thoroughly.

I think people should. Given that J's and Hellfire/Cellblock have all been closed during the time the show's been on the air, a certain regular won't really have a place to come back to anyway. Shhhh! Don't tell his wife!

here's where the bad logic comes into play, yes people tuned in, but they tuned it BECAUSE it was the last 7th Heaven. I'll admit to watching it, but I'm not going to watch a whole nother season.

This makes me so angry. I used to occasionally watch 7th Heaven, but now if I ever do I'll probably throw something at the tv.

Supposedly, CW reopened talks of renewing Everwood yesterday. If anyone is interested in sending an email or showing support, you can find more information here:

I agree with zzannahk, the whole reason people tuned in was because they thought it was the finale. That's like bringing Friends or Will and grace, or any other show back just because the SERIES FINALE drew a larger audience than usual. And since 7th H. did wrap everything up, where arew they gonna go? I have a feeling that it'll be a very awkward season, and then they'll have to "end it" AGAIN!

How can a show with six upcoming newborns NOT be awkward? Especially if they turn into anything resembling the twin boys they have now.

The worst part is that this is the second 7th Heaven series finale...I remember they were making a big deal about it three or four years ago.

The show is gone. The actors and the writing staff have all been released from their contracts and are pursuing other jobs.

It sucks, but it's over.

What the hell is wrong with the twins in HEAVEN? The way they say their lines, it's so obvious that they learned them strictly phonetically, now THAT is awkward. Is english even their first language? With names like Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino, do they even know what they're saying?
Oh well, hopefully those 6 (oy vey) twins will somehow revolt against the blackhole they've been born into.
