so all we need to do is have the fbi in other countries surveil all the potential terrorists for a year or so, provide them with faulty weapons and when they try to use them, arrest them. see, stopping terrorism is easy y'all. i bet we will never get attacked again. ever.

I understand that you are frustrated that your party's leadership has been completely and utterly rejected. I often felt the same way while I had to watch men I considered buffoons, criminals and worse exploit people's fears and use stories like these to advance their political agenda. But I really don't understand your angle- Obama is bad because these guys were caught? We're supposed to not be happy that a synagogue wasn't bombed?
This wasn't a left or right thing- When the FBI started watching these guys Pal Joey was still dreaming about a Hillary Clinton Presidency. It's kind of hard to believe we've gotten to a point when we can't agree on anything- even that terrorism is bad. The only bright spot after 9/11 was the way the county united behind Bush- a guy who up to that point got a lot of "he's not MY president" crap. When (not if, when) something like that happens again there is obviously no way the country will ever be able to unite that way. And that is a damn shame.

So much has changed since the FBI started to surveil these folks. I remember Papa prognosticating that Huckabee would be the Republican nominee, Obama was unelectable, and Michelle Obama was a liability.
