OH NO!
LA
Where will all the gay men cruise?
Dame, your subject line makes it sound like the theatre is on fire! YIKES
The situation is serious but the good news is that the winds (according to what I heard on the radio) are going opposite direction of the zoo which was their main concern.
Really early fire season this year. Another one is about 75% containced in OC

Awww, guess things changed overnight. Sorry to read this.
Oh my this is awful!
Well.. the main structures did not burn down. The observatory is closed for noiw and all concerts at the greek are being moved to different venues. No word as to what they have done with the animals in the zoo.

This breaks my heart - but, thankfully, none of the animals or buildings are lost.
And in the end, it's what the land needs to rejuvinate itself. It actually should be a fascinating process to watch.
Your right DG. We spent most of the evening on a perch on Mulholland drive watching the fire and praying. Watching the wind change directions many times and the flames coming this close and then backing up and then close again had me wrecked.

DAME - that's what we did in the '03 fire season from hell - watching it burn to a quarter mile from the house. It is NOT fun!
Not fun at all. One good thing was the sense of community and civic duty everyone seemed to have last night.

Do you know what the containment estimate is at this point?
75%
Wow. I always get scared my high school will burn down...and if it ever got that close to...Ah, I don't want to think about it.
Where was it?
