Beautiful, talented and beloved San Francisco born Natalie Wood will be celebrated with 3 days of her best films Fri., Nov 9 - Sun., Nov. 11 at the historic Castro Theatre. She will also be remembered by one who knew her well, her sister Lana Wood, at the centerpiece event, Sat., Nov. 10.

Natalie Wood lit up the screen with her beautiful brown eyes and radiant smile, and shattered it with her vulnerability. Born in the Bay area (she lived for at time at1930 Divisidero!), Natalie was one of our most luminescent native daughters.

Her life and work will be honored by her younger sister Lana Wood. Lana (who also starred as "Plenty O'Toole in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER) will sit down for a rare on-stage interview, in which (in her words) 'it will be an honest, open discussion, personal and completely truthful. No holds barred.' Also included at this gala event- a tribute clip reel honoring the screen legend, a performance by Connie Champagne, special surprises, and a screening of Elia Kazan's 1961 masterpiece SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS - in which Natalie received one of her 3 Oscar® nominations, also starring stunning Warren Beatty.

Other festival highlights include a 50th Anniversary Screening of the musical classic GYPSY, hosted by Matthew Martin as Mama Rose, and a rare screening of Robert Mulligan's 5 time Oscar nominated LOVE WITH A PROPER STRANGER also starring Steve McQueen. The film features one of the most gripping scenes portraying a botched back room abortion ever put on film, and is a reminder of a time when abortion was illegal.

Wood classics REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, and WEST SIDE STORY (sing-along) will also unspool, as well as Paul Mazursky's BOB & CAROL & TED & ALICE, and 2 films with Robert Redford: THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED and INSIDE DAISY CLOVER.
