Yes - very good show. Driver was on The View yesterday and was really great.

I felt like a cranky old man-- I guess I haven't kept up with the cable revolution. It's on FX but they swear like truckers and there was a graphic (if comically short) sex scene. I must have said "Can they DO that on TV?" 15 times!
But it was great. Best thing I've seen in ages. I Wanted to see another episode immediately.

Joe, I loved it. I initially posted the review from the New York Times in Roxy's thread. Here it is:

Izzard and Driver have terrific chemistry. I hope the rest of the episodes live up to the the pilot.

Yeah, I watched because of Minnie Driver, whom I adore, and was pleasantly surprised at how enthralled I was in it. I'm interested to see how it's going to take shape.

I think what impressed me most was how much groundwork is layed for future storylines-- The transvetite son, why the daughter hates the Mom, What was the history with the other family in the otehr RV (that causes the accident), Dahling's mixed emotions about (and role in) her family...I can see years of plotlines.
Not to mention the constant danger of getting caught. They mention an ex-wife in the previews.

"Not to mention the constant danger of getting caught."
I think that's what terrifies Dahlia the most and what Wayne gets off on. He's more than a con--he's a showman! Remember the class reunion scheme? They made off with all of the wallets they needed. He had to go on and on and on...stirring up the crowds, making an event out of his very presence (when he really should just get the money, lay low and get out). He doesn't just see it as a way of life like Dahlia does. He loves the thrill and danger and sense of romance he attaches to it.
More than a little far-fetched and a few too many similarities to HBO’s Big Love, but the acting is solid and Driver and Izzard have great chemistry. I’m not hooked yet, but it’s definitely worth giving a chance.
And JoeKv, if you thought The Riches was racy, you're obviously not a viewer of another FX series, Nip/Tuck.
NIP/TUCK is my Bible. I can't wait for it to come back.

Luscious, I can see the similarities to Big Love, too. Big Love does it better, IMO (so far, at least) but I'm still loving Riches. If we had to do a parallel--maybe Dahlia is a little like Nicki Grant. "Royalty" in her clan/compound but lost and insecure out in the real world.

I've never seen Nip/Tuck but saw a clip from it on THAT SITE with Mario Lopez-- yowsa!
And is her name Dahlia? I thought her Welcome Home banner said "Dahling" I thought that was a weird name!

Yes, it's Dahlia, but I think they affectionately call her Dahling.
NIP/TUCK has gone a lot further than just two men in a shower. In one scene, Julian bends Brooke Shields over his desk and does her doggie style. They show it.
I'm still looking for some black Versace briefs, but I can't find them anywhere!

I'm so glad I've found something new to watch on Mondays!
Minnie fans might like to know her second album is coming out soon.
With Ryan Adams and Liz Phair???
Finally watched the pilot. LOVED IT. Will be watching tonight's episode.
Either nothing is on or every channel has something
Mrs R wants to watch the Dance With The Stars Show. Meanwhile Deal Or No Deal is on for 2 hours tonight with 26 hunky guys instead of the normal models & it cuts into DWTS. Now (Thanks for reminding me of The Riches & I will have to tape this
Looks like Fox cable is on the rise with great shows & HBO (Losing Deadwood & Rome & The Sopranos last season) seems to be a shell of what it used to be
Fox Cable
The Riches
Dirt
Nip/Tuck
