DEATH OF A SALESMAN 2026 Reviews Jun 6 2026, 05:47:55 PM
willep said: "I don't believe Nathan and Laurie do the stage door at all."
Nathan never stages doors. Laurie hasn't been for this production. She usually has in the past, but it's understandable given how intense this show is. The rest of the cast signs pretty regularly.

Jacobson has been pretty vocal about where she stands on the matter. I wouldn't assume or imply this had anything to do with the portrayal of Israel in the play without any evidence.

This reminds me of when Billy Magnussen dropped out of **** Meets Fan last minute, which was also MCC. Weird!"
Didn’t Billy Magnussen leave after performances had already started? I sort of remember him doing a couple of the early previews before i

NYTimes Tony Award Predictions Jun 5 2026, 12:51:22 PM
I'd love to see a JELLICLE BALL upset, but I feel like RAGTIME probably still has the upper hand. A lot of Tony voters are older and have conservative tastes. If that's the case, I hope they split the difference and give Best Director to Levingston/Rauch.

Since Jonathan Cake is Lane's understudy, I wondered if Tasha Lawrence (who played The Woman) might be Metcalf's.

GIRL, INTERRUPTED (The Play With Music”) At The Public Jun 5 2026, 08:29:03 AM
Curious about the running time if anyone has seen the show lately. The Public website says 1:50 with no intermission. Is that accurate? I'm trying to figure out if I can make it back up to Port Authority for a 9:45 bus if I see a 7pm show.

Mr. Wormwood said: "I didn't predict this but I think there could be a world where Schmigadoon wins Best Musical and nothing else, which would be unprecedented I believe? (I didn't actually check though...)"
Yes - there has never been a show that won Best Musical as its only award.

Burstein, Hecht, & Shamos to star in AWAKE & SING - MTC (Dec. 2026) Jun 1 2026, 10:01:57 AM
Hecht and Shamos are terrific choices for Bessie and Myron. Burstein is luxury casting in the relatively small role of Uncle Morty.
If I had a total blue-sky wish list for the rest of the production, I'd love to see Andrew Barth Feldman as Ralph, Alden Ehrenreich as Moe, Hannah Einbinder as Hennie, Will Brill as Sam, and Mandy Patinkin as Jacob.
The last Broadway revival definitely leaves big shoes to fill, though. It was so well done.

Stephen Bogardus replaced Walken and played the last two weeks of the Broadway run (April 4-16, 2000), then went on to do the mini-tour with Blair Brown's replacement, Faith Prince.

I didn't see Tambor in LA CAGE, but I've heard a soundboard audio from one of his few performances. He's not terrible, but you can hear that's uncomfortable with the music.

While never officially going anywhere, cast members were hearing for the 10th anniversary of the original run of Les Miz, that Tom Jones was going to be Valjean on Broadway. Again, not sure how far that ever got in reality.
And thelate Louis Gossett Jr. was announced to play Billy Flynn on Broadway. Not sure

The premature closing of CHESS will close on Broadway got me thinking about replacements who were announced but never actually began performances due to the show folding before their start dates. A few I could think of off the top of my head:
Judy Kuhn in THE WOMAN IN WHITE
Rhiannon Giddens in SHUFFLE ALONG
Robert Stack in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (original production)
Lucie Arnaz in WONDERFUL TOWN
Jenna Elfman in NINE -- sort of...

Ed Harris, Allison Janney & Julia Louis Dreyfuss - OTHER DESERT CITIES Revival?? May 26 2026, 08:59:29 AM
At its core, Other Desert Cities is a showcase for actors, so it doesn’t surprise me that it would be catnip for a big-name revival. I saw the original three times (once at the Newhouse, twice on Broadway), and I remember thinking that, even with Mantello’s talent as a director, the production felt like you were watching five siloed star performances rather than something cohesive. This isn’t to say it wasn’t thrilling — but it was a case of th

James Ijames' "Wilderness Generation" May 23 2026, 09:40:27 AM
James undeniably has talent as a writer, but I don’t think it’s been nurtured properly. He’s someone who had a lot of early success in Philly, and after he won the Pulitzer, he (understandably) grabbed hold of a lot of opportunities and churned out a lot of plays, most of them mediocre. Good Bones was virtually unwatchable, and Wilderness Generation felt undercooked and tentative, trying to do too many things at one. TJ Loves Sally Forever was a smart idea that wasn’t

TKTS or Box Office May 20 2026, 10:17:34 AM
I've used the TKTS booth numerous times post-COVID, and I've never waited more than 15 minutes to get to a window. I usually go 60-90 minutes prior to curtain rather than queuing up before it opens. I've found that lines are more manageable as it gets closer to showtime, that better seats are released later on, and I've had no complaints.
Each time I've gone recently, the attendant has asked for my price range and accommodated my specific request for aisle seats. Mo
