Check your info page on FB. They changed whatever e-mail address you had or if you didn't have one listed, added one.

Posted: 6/27/12 at 12:54amI noticed on Sunday and changed mine immediately. Mine was just a bunch of random numbers with "@facebook.com" tacked onto the end. Huh?

Posted: 6/27/12 at 9:00amIf you never chose a user name on Facebook, it just changed it to your user number. I don't get why everyone is freaking out about it. If anyone is looking for your email randomly on Facebook, wouldn't you rather it go to your Facebook inbox than your real email? I changed mine, too, when I thought about it, I don't get the noise it's making.

Posted: 6/27/12 at 9:29amFor me, it's mainly that they went and did it without informing. As usual. Not freaking out, just passing along the news.

I've never had my email address displayed publicly anyway, and when I went to check my settings the Facebook email address wasn't checked to display publicly either.
Personally I feel that anyone who needs my email address already has it or can send me a message on Facebook to ask me for it. No need to leave it there for anybody to come along and find.

I did change my user name, so no idea why mine was numbers.
I want people to be able to contact me! I have my privacy settings up high enough that only my friends see the address anyway.
On Sunday, I went to Facebook to gather email addresses of a few friends to invite them to meet me at an event next week... and all their email addresses had changed. I don't feel confident that they received the messages, and that upsets me.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I set up a totally different email account just for Facebook. I never ever use the account or have it connected to anything.
It's just a trash can for the notifications.
I didn't want my email box getting filled up with notices about every little thing. So, if they changed it, then I don't have to worry about an extra mail box.

You guys must be geniuses!
I can't find anyone who even knows HOW to access their FB email!

I just sent an email to your Facebook account explaining it all.

Posted: 6/28/12 at 2:17pmLOL! I looked at my account settings and my e-mail is listed as my normal e-mail. Is FB e-mail something different?

Email addressed to your Facebook account shows up in your messages inbox.
Thank you, Phyllis. As if I don't get enough email as it is!

@Stockard Fan --
On my profile page, where I would look to see my own email address posted, I saw something like 2340346@facebook.com. And I saw similar things on my friends' pages (although some were their names @ facebook).
I had to go into my settings, unhide my real email, and hide the weird facebook one.
If someone writes to your facebook.com email address, their "email" gets sent to your facebook messages folder, just like any other message. It doesn't get forwarded to their email account.
Is that helpful?
