Seems little miss sweaty crotch felt she was snubbed by not being asked to be in the opening...
"Last night they were honoring someone who is my idol, Aretha Franklin, and there is no way I could have sat there and not got the happy feet and wanting to jump on the mic because she is my favorite so I felt like, you know, at the end of the day I should have been on that stage so, I kind of did my own little thing last night."
So, just because you liked Aretha means that you should have been asked to perform?
I like Aretha too, but no one asked me either.
Honey, you weren't missed.

Aretha had a response for Fantasia -
"I was sorry to hear that Fantasia was upset because she did not get the opportunity to participate in my Grammy Tribute this year. I recall that in the past, Fantasia participated in both my MusicCares Person of the Year Tribute and my United Negro College Fund Tribute. Fantasia is still young in the business and although we all love and appreciate her she must understand that in this business of show business she will not always get to participate in everything she would like participate in. I'm sure it was not an intentional omission. I will see Fantasia over the summer here in Detroit."

I think there are a couple of reasons Fantasia wasn't asked to participate. Each of the singers that did participate in the Aretha tribute were from a different genre of music and JHud was the R&B singer. JHud is really hot right now and Fantasia has been plagued with controversy this year.
Yolanda Adams - Gospel
Martina McBride - Country
Christina Aguilera - Pop
Jennifer Hudson - R&B
Florence Welch - Rock? (don't really now how to classify her)

My eyes, my eyes!!
I should have said, Aretha's response was classy.
I can't argue about that picture though.

I saw a photo somewhere of young Aretha next to a pic of Halle and it would have worked.
