Well.. Flo was my favorite..but I don't think she replaced anyone...

So of the two actual replacements... I'd go with Jolene. She was sweet and I had a bit of a crush.

I was just thinking the other day what a great actress Polly Holiday is. Looking back, those Alice episodes don't hold up too well..but Holiday is still shines.

Yes Flo was an original for the series, but she was playing the role Diane Ladd originated in the movie.

Yeah, too bad she didn't get the creative support when Flo did a spin-off. I always thought with the right support, Flo would have been a better show than Alice.

Holiday was great in the Roundabout's Picnic. Of course with Ashley Judd in the lead, Roundabout had to pad the cast with great talent: Holiday, Debra Monk, Anne Pitoniak

Mel was clearly the funniest part of the show.

And after Flo it was just a pale imitation of its former glory.

my favorite episode is where Vera's hamster dies & she locks herself in the bathroom.
Flo reads her the poem on a needlepoint pillow to coax her out & every single day of my life, i hear Polly Holiday's voice in my brain saying, somberly, "my buddy...my buddy..."

I hated everyone that came after Flo. Polly Holiday was the best!!!
