Favorite Christmas Song...

Mine is HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS!
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

Always been a fan of Madonna's version of "Santa Baby."

Or "Winter Wonderland."
"There are mouths to be kissed before mouths to be fed, and there's many a tryst and there's many a bed. There's a lot I'll have missed, but I'll not have been dead when I die! And a person should celebrate everything passing by."

re: Favorite Christmas Song...

When I'm feeling sentimental = "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

When I'm feeling nostalgic = "While Christmas"

When I'm feeling naughty = "I Saw Daddy Doing Santa Claus"

When I know it's really Christmas = "Silent Night"

When I can't wait to get to mass and sing = "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing"

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I love love loooooove that song! A friend who was with the show is on the track, so it's kind of an added bonus for me that I can pick his voice out.

That song was orchestrated so beautifully and the harmonies at the end are just AMAZING.

I love all the Gypsy references in it. Although, I am curious as to why Bernie wasn't on it. But, that song had me cracking up.

re: Favorite Christmas Song...

So many!! One of my favorites is The Christmas Song. I highly doubt if anyone can top Nat King Cole singing it. Another song that I am ashamed to admit is growing on me is "All I want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey. Several of the girls I live with at school were obssessed with this song before break and I find I enjoy it now! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!!!!! re: Favorite Christmas Song... Tonight at Midnight Mass it was like everyone was afraid to sing! Heather I wanted to yell out "Sing out Louise!" at my church too!! Too bad only one person would have gotten it and they were one of the musicians up front.
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

re: Favorite Christmas Song...

Definately the originals from way back ... Holly Jolly Christmas; Rockin Around the Christmas Tree; and Jingle Bell Rock.

Mariah Carey made possibly the best Christmas album ever.

Debbie Allen's "Rockin Little Christmas" rocks.

Really like Sheryl Crow's "Run Run Rudolph."

Definately "(Let's Have) a Patrick Swayze Christmas" from Mystery Science Theater. Simply the best!

re: Favorite Christmas Song...

The Gypsy references in that song were fabulous. I loved that too. I was glad that Cathy got a chance to be featured since Bernadette didnt do it.

Im a huge fan of all the Carols for a Cure CDs.... I also love All I Want for Christmas is You, My Only Wish (I think that's what it's called -- the Britney Spears one)... Also adore Same Old Lang Syne

The Christmas Song as sung by Nat King Cole is the official start of Christmas for my family. I also like Crackerjack Christmas sung by Mr. Greenjeans.
