I love The Mamas and the Papas and Joni Mitchell.
The New Main Street Singers, The Folksmen and Mikey and Mitch go without saying.
Who are your favorite Folk Singers?

Hmm, well considering it has long been my favorite music...
Dylan (Yoda and Undi of course he counts! Listen to Live at Halloween 1964!)
Phil Ochs (I have all his albums, he really was an artist)
Dar Williams (although lately way too much 'pop')
Joni Mitchell
Joan Baez (totally agree with the Diamonds and Rust love above, also Baez singing almost any Dylan song AHHH!)
Indigo Girls
Billy Bragg
Odetta
Pete Seeger
Lucinda Williams
Lucy Kaplansky
Tom Waits
so many more I can't think of off the top of my head.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Love Odetta! How about Nina Simone? I also saw a young woman on one of Judy Garland's TV show and she was terrific. Don't recall her name.

OMG , MJR I forgot about Eva! Yes yes yes. Updated On: 8/6/05 at 04:36 PM

I just know I am forgetting some.
But I also love very early Clannad When they were singing mostly in Gaelic.

I second alot of the ones who have been mentioned but I'd like to add Carole King. I cannot listen to Tapestry enough. Also, BJ Thomas, Cat Stevens and Jim Croce. (can we consider them to be folk singers?)
