I love all three films but the first film still holds as the best out of the three. What is your favorite one?

If I had to choose it would be ROTK, but I also consider them to all be one epic film.

I wrote them out, broadway guy. But I type 115 cwpm so it's not a problem.

ROTK is definitely the biggest and really blends the action and emotion into perfect harmony. I would say ROTK is probably the best film, but Fellowship has more heart to it and I appreciate that. It was less battle and more Quest.

I'm with Joe. Except that even the shortest of them puts me to sleep. Perhaps it's all that Elvish whispering and lisping. Or the really long sequences where very little happens.

ROTK is definitely the biggest and really blends the action and emotion into perfect harmony.

It is definitely the longest and manages to stretch out even the briefest moments into 20 (or more) minutes of agonizing slo-mo vapidity.

It's been a while since I've seen them so I'm not sure I could explain why, especially since I liked all three very much, but I preferred The Two Towers.

I consider them to be all one film as well.

I do prefer the extended editions to the theatrical releases, though.

Not remotely the case with The Hhhh ... ooooooo ..... bbbbb .... bbbbb..... iiiii .... tttttttt.

Even though 'Return of the King' could have ended at any point during the last half-hour it is my favorite of the three.

I'm a big fan of all three, especially the extended versions. They're all marvelous films, can't choose a single one.

But I will cop to having a special fondness for the attack on Isengard in THE TWO TOWERS, which is for me probably the greatest single action scene Big Set Piece since the Chariot Race in BEN HUR.

I dug THE HOBBIT for its shaggy dog quality. I just kicked back and had a rousing good time, and that's about all I was really expected to do. We'll see if Jackson can sustain that good feeling throughout two more full length films and extended Director's Cutapaloozas.

I really liked "The Hobbit," too. I'm glad to find another person of relatively discerning taste who does.

I'm also in on the Hobbit love.

I concede that it was more of the same in terms of the film making, but that's exactly why I liked it. It really does feel a part of the world Jackson created.

Exactly. I understand, objectively speaking, that he does protract things, but to me, sitting and actually watching the movie, it didn’t feel that way. It didn’t feel padded or bloated. It was a blast and every bit as exciting and captivating as the first three movies. If the next two movies are as good as “The Hobbit,” I’ll be a very happy moviegoer.

It took some getting used to, but not a lot. It did feel like very very very high definition video, instead of that "film" look, there's no two ways about it, but it wasn't much of a problem for very long.

I'm not sure I really see the point, myself. It didn't really add much, except a lot of EXTREME MEGA-HYPER-CLARITY which frankly didn't do the prosthetic makeup any favors.

I was a bit disappointed with The Hobbit. I found the pacing to be too slow and the CGI was just plain bad in some parts. However, I did love that Peter Jackson decided to expand the story and put the White Council storyline in.

It took 50 minutes for the dwarfs to eat dinner. That movie was atrocious.
