I love LIKE A PRAYER and RAY OF LIGHT. But jrb actor, i agree with you that there is not rotten egg in her discography.
well, name em.
However, it IS a fact that every album is multiplatinum. :)
Erotica is one of my favorites, as well. I also think a lot of the songs in American Life are absolutely brilliant. Her music definately isn't as popular as it used to be, but that's because it has changed so much over the past 10 years. She writes about things that no 13 year old would know or should know about at that time in their lives and that is going to cut down on the number of albums sold and radio play. But she still definately has it. Our Savior isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And thank God, er, Her for that.
exactly! Her music has grown artistically in immeasurable ways. She isn't going to appeal as broadly. Plus, she ain't 20yo and that is what is hot right now. She will always be around and be famous.
not a fan of this question :P
i like something to remember, but thats pretty much a collection of ballads cd... ray of light is a great one too
SOMETHING TO REMEMBER is a fantastic album!!! That's more than a greatest hits album, though. That's a collection of beauty and grace put to words and music.
yay someone else likes it
i think she also looks hot on the album cover... and in a conservative way too hahaha
My all-time favourite Madonna albums: Like A Prayer and Ray Of Light. Can't decide which is better, it depends on my mood.
I also agree that there is no rotten egg in her album discography. I actually think that True Blue is her weakest album - not for the songs, obviously, but because it doesn't have as strong a coherent feel as her other ones. But still a great album, with many of her very best songs.
And American Life is highly underrated. The critics who bashed it probably didn't even listen to it, or else they'd see it was actually a much stronger album than Music, because again it felt more coherent and purposeful.
What I love about Madonna's music is that every album has a completely different sound and feel from the next. (The great thing about The Immaculate Collection is that, since the tracks are in chronological order, you can easily hear the evolution of Madonna's music.) So the CD you grab off the shelf isn't necessarily your one favourite that you play all the time, but the one that suits your mood and thoughts. She's an incredibly versatile and evolutionary artist. I don't know anyone else who has experimented with many different musical genres, styles, and grooves over the course of a career, and explored her soul while doing it.
I enjoy the Immaculate Collection. Yes, it's a compilation, but I love it. I think it was the best Madonna!
