In honor of our savior's birth, I thought I would ask the age old question - Which album of hers is your favorite?
Erotica....
I am going to get a lot of grief for this I imagine, but:
Music.
Shouldn't that and GHV2 be disqualified from consideration?
Soundtrack to Shanghai Surprise.
There was one?
Won three Grammys!
Shut UP!
I'm lying.
Oh. Well don't I feel silly.

"Like a Prayer"
An absolutely stunningly produced collection with a depth and seriousness that none of the modern-day wannabes has ever proven themselves capable of. You will never see anything like this from Britney or any of the others even if they do buy from the best pop writers money can get them.
Plus it smelled like patchouli.
Music and Ray of Light are very good, American Life is highly under-rated. The Remixed and Revisited version of the title song is the hard rock song her catalogue has been craving, and the basis for the stunning version she performs on the current tour. It's the highlight of the show.

Ray of light:
From the first words:
"I traded fame for love, without a second thought...."
One knows something more than just childbirth has happened to the iconic female pop artist of the last 45 years...
...the album is perfect in every way and for and in retrospect, it's influence was felt on almost every pop/rock performer in the business..
And it deserved "Album of the Year" at the Grammys and even Lauryn (I ain't done crap since winning it)Hill knew it!
When Pearl Jam toured that year, they're encore was "Ray of Light" which Eddie Vedder always introduced as "This amazing song"...
PS: Namo; Like a prayer is indeed stunning as well...but the smell, To this day you open it up and it stinks...

Like a Prayer and I'm Breathless
First album - "Madonna" - is still my fave - Burning Up, Everybody, Holiday, Lucky Star, Borderline...good stuff! (I love 'em all, though).
I really listen to The Immaculate Collection the most...but it would make sense to pic one that isn't a greatest hits album.
So Ray of Light.

The Immaculate Collection. I also like Bedtime Stories, Erotica, and Like a Prayer.
Bedtime Stories is a great album to f*ck to.

Ray Of Light is definitely my favorite. I do love all her albums though. I highly agree that American Life is under-rated. I would have to say that Bedtime Stories is my least favorite.

I never liked Bedtime Stories either until one day I grabbed it and put it on for a steamy encounter with my former lover the Aramis model. WELL! I had a new appreciation for the disc by the time it, and we, were done. I said to the model, "I never liked this before now," and he said, "I know, it was the perfect sexual choreography album."
So I guess I hadn't listened to Bedtime Stories the right way.
damn right! Bedtime Stories is the one of the few times i want a woman in my bedroom.
LOL--I love it! It took sex to understand the damn album!! :)
I honestly do not think there is a rotten egg in her discography. I think the two albums that were crucified by critics are being referred to as underrated now. (Erotica and American Life)
