No. The Psycho sequels didn't start until the 80s. I don't think there was anyone as renown as Crawford in this film. ARRRRGHH!!!! It's driving me crazy! I can visualize the whole thing. It may have had something to do with a babysitter (perhaps in the title?).
It's like that other film with the sculptor guy who encased his victims in clay (and it wasn't House of Wax). I know the main character was a popular actor at the time - late 60s early 70s. The typical lead female discovers them by accidentally knocking one over in his studio and starts screaming. Of course, she cannot get away because he is walking very slowly towards her. No matter how fast the victims run, they will never get away and the killers just sort of stroll along...
