Joseph. I was named after him. However Bernadette is a close second.

St. Clare the patron saint of sore eyes.

re: favorite saint

Sumofallthings many, many years ago my mother had eye surgery in St. Clare's Hospital. I'll never forget the statue of St. Clare holding a plate with eyeballs with retinas streaming from them.

re: favorite saint

Ah...my catholic school girl days.. flasbacks when Daddy used to have a staute of St. Christopher, patron saint of travel on the dashboard, until he was "de-sainted" years later. Not sure, but I heard a St. Pauli Girl was involved in his demise. His driving was never the same since then.

Another flasback...passing by that statue of St. Francis of Assisi, in Our Lady of Mouth Carmel Court Yard, with his arms outstretched and the winged creatures sitting upon his shoulders and in his holy hands, cooing peacfully....till I looked up and a flippin' mocking bird pooped right on me head. That guy had to be a saint to be plastered in bird poop!

re: favorite saint

Well let's see...

I've always had a love for St Cecelia.

But, St. Francis and St. Anthony had a really large influence on my schooling since I went to a Franciscan High School.

My confirmation name was (well, is) Jordan. re: favorite saint

re: favorite saint

Were you ever told that a prayer to St. Anthony would help you find something you had lost? My mother always said that to us and I swear it always worked for me!

re: favorite saint

The one my Grandmother taught us goes like this...

St.Anthony, St.Anthony,
Please come around,
Something is lost,
And must be found.

Just keep saying this while you're looking for the lost item. It usually works.

re: favorite saint

St. Anthony is supposed to be for something that is lost. In more dire needs however people like to talk to St. Jude, for 'hopeless' causes.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

re: favorite saint

St. Jude (I'm named after him, long story) and definitely St. Anthony. Boobs, I never knew there was an actual prayer to say when you're looking for something. I just usually ask him to help me and he does!
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.
