Le Rivage-French Food- Duck a l'orange/any kind of beef

Crab meat juice buns? Really?
Xing - Chinese
Becco - Italian
All items on the menus are good in both places.

Yeah, its like a thick dumpling filled with broth and pork and crab meat.
Every time i'm in the city I have to get a piece of chocolate marble cheesecake at Roxy.
Mama Sbarro is good for italian. And i've also had a very good (and expensive) dinner at Mars 2112.

Nowhere. I have not been to New York since 1997.
Pietrasanta (47th and 9th)...Italian...any of the pasta dishes are wonderful
I know you're talking about NYC, but my favorite restaurant to eat at in San Francisco is Scala's Bistro (Italian), at Union Square, across from the Westin.
Great pasta.
I have many. I adore:
Blue Fin- It is where I go when I have a date or a celebration.
The Edison Cafe for Soup and Blintzes in the winter
Raku for Sushi - Favorite rolls: The Spicy Salmon, Mango Salmon and Odd Couple Rolls.
Firebird- Honey Vodka and place for a drink
Meli Melo- Dessert- White Chocolate Temptation (Once every three months)
I also love the Bellini's at Tony's in Times Square.

What's in the Odd Couple roll?
Spicy shrimp tempura and caviar. Lot's of caviar.
It is heavy so I usually go with two spicy salmon rolls.
The sushi is great, but I love going to Raku because the owner is so cool.

I've never liked caviar, even the expensive stuff. My boyfriend and I usually go to this place called Osaka and I get the Dragon roll. I love Unagi!
We don't live in NYC.
siam inn - thai (8th ave, between 51st&52nd)
I love thai. There's also a great thai restaurant in San Francisco. I just can't remember the name.
Crab meat juice buns, as absolutely gross as that SOUNDS, are probably amazing- have to try that sometime.
Ocha - a Japanese restaurant on 46th has a great fixed menu -- the pad thai/noodle dishes are amazing!
Right near that there's a Brazilian restaurant I like a lot called Churrascaria
Italian - Osteria Al Doge
Ribs - Virgil's

Yeah, jasonf, it sounds so gross that I didn't even give them a chance until a few years ago, but I now eat them almost every time I see a sh ow. They really look just like big dumplings, and they come with this soy-ginger sauce that complements them really well. Is there anyone else on this board that has had them, and can confirm their deliciousness?
Where's the restaurant that has them?

Actually- I'm looking for some places too.
Leaning toward Italian/American cuisine.
However, somewhat cheap.
My favorite of favorites was Barrymore's but now it's gone
If anyone has any suggestions- like Barrymore's...or something somewhat cheap...I'd love to know!
Edit: Also, something near rockefeller center would be good too
I usually go to John's Pizzeria. It's an Italian restaurant and I actually know where it is (across from The Phantom of the Opera).

It's not as expensive as other places.

John's Shanghai is on 46th Street right off of Broadway, I believe on the same side as the Marriot Marquis. It's kind of small on the outside, so look carefully.
When i've got $$ DB Bistro less$ Rachaels on 9Th, and also on 9th this lttle nothing diner whose name I can't quite remember. Just yer regular diner.

Carmine's has incredible food... and lots of it! I love the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli.
