re: re: re: re: re: re: february introduce yourself thread

I'm Liz, late teens, roosting in New Jersey (Queens baby, though! re: re: re: re: re: re: february introduce yourself thread ), and I'm an aspiring actress who also loves watching Broadway shows. I own a the official fansite of Barrett Foa (and operate the e-mailing list) and I've helped with graphics at "Simply Michael Cavanaugh" (owned by the lovely A!).

And B'way girl, I'm under 18 (not by much, though!) and I understand what they're saying. I mean, you guys are giving out the towns that you live in and stuff. And it's not like they know nothing~ they've been through it themselves, and I think that even some of the people on the boards are teachers. It's not like they don't know anything about what teens see everyday. In fact, they do. And it's *not* a good thing that you're all exposed to that stuff.

Sorry, it just gets me when people say that. re: re: re: re: re: re: february introduce yourself thread I'm still a bit under 18, but I try my best to act mature. (key word: try! *wink*) I just don't get how some teenagers really don't know where adults are coming from and try to justify themselves.

And also, I think that the typing alone should ban some teenage people from the board. Quotation marks exist. We have a shift key. And typing 'the' instead of 'da' or '2' instead of 'too' (or even worse, 'to') does not take a long time to do.

M'kay..sorry for my ranting~ I'll just be leaving now. :)

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: february introduce yourself thread

Hi! my name is Jennifer and I live in Las Vegas. I'm thirtysomething. I have nothing to do with showbiz other than I am a "ticket buyer" (so I guess that makes me the most important type of person:). I'm an executive with a Pharmaceutical company . I enjoy this site because I love entertainment and those with the ability to act, sing, dance, write etc. Although from the sound of some of these threads, some people are taking it all too seriously. The criticism of others' talents amaze me. I believe no one gets to Broadway who isn't wonderfully talented! Some are just better than others, Just my opinion...

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: february introduce yourself thread

Hi, my name is Tina and I just turned 27. I graduated about 3 years from Wagner College with a business degree, and have been conentrating on getting my online company up and going. It's more like an online gift shop.

I went to high school in Greece and returned back to NJ in 1998.
My hobbies evolve around theatre and music. My goal was to start my own record label, but after trying to get an internship at a record label in 2000, the year before Sept. 11 things were very bad economically, and that made things very hard to get my foot in the door. So I'm hoping to make some money with my online business and try to venture into the entertainment industry somehow, from a business perspective.

I've been a theatre fan only the past 3 years so I'm learning as much as I can. I love the arts and everything that evolves around the arts. I'm also working on writing a play of my own, more so based on personal experiences. I wish I had the talent for Broadway, but for now I have to settle for just being a member of the audience!

And of course, my favorite Broadway actress is Bernadette Peters! I was so excited when I got to see her at the Gypsy cd signing last Aug! Saw Gypsy 3 times already...and hoping to see it again soon!

february intro

Dollypop, didn't your estrangement with Albin stem from some sort of unpleasant Babs incident?
Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

re: february intro

Oh yes, Etoile. My estrangement from Albin was the direct result of a horrible incident concerning That Streisand Woman. A very dear friend of mine is related to Ms Streisand and had been invited to the NY premier of a film the diva had directed. She wrangled invitations for me and Albin as well. I think it was called THE BITCH HAS TWO FACES. It was only a movie, so I don't remember much about it, not even its title. It was a black tie event and Albin showed up wearing a flannel shirt and bib overalls. He looked like something out of THE GRAPES OF WRATH. Anyhow, after the film was shown, we had a dinner party at The Tavern On The Green, where Mr and Mrs James Brolin were the hosts. When Albin caught sight of Mrs. Brolin, he became even weirder than ususal and ran up to her and fawned all over her. Reverting to his childhood state, he began to maul her and attempted to breast feed from her the way he did from his sainted mother.

It was a horrible sight...it really was. The police were called and Albin was hauled off in handcuffs.

re: re: re: re: re: re: february intro

It's not the fact that under 18s are giving out personal information that's creepy, it's more the fact that they think Broadway stars should be worshipped and that they don't lead ordinary lives. If Sutton remembers you at the stage door.. what's next? Marriage?

And yes, I'm under 18 and think Hunter is a God, Sutton is a princess, Idina rules the world and Harvey should run for president.

JakeB- lol! I love the people who are like "I met Idina, and she hugged me-" and they get upset when they can't get her phone number or anything.

I always use the saying "Actors are like politicians." They probably get pissed off at half of the people they meet (too noisy, nosy, stalkish, etc.), but some of them don't show it at all. Some people don't get it.

My name is Lindsay, and it's in lights (I know that was pretty bad, so sue me), and I live in Las Vegas, NV. I am as old as I feel and as young as I look, so you do the math. I go to the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies Performing and Visual Arts as a Theatre Major. I have been acting since I was six, and I also study clowining, improv, and mime on the side. YES! My favorite musicals are Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods and The Music Man. I love Idina Menzel and have a MAD crush on George Hearn (Sweeney Todd) and Michael Cavanaugh (Movin' Out). I second the vote for Harvey as Prez and I think Dollypop should be Secretary of State. Thank you and goodnight!

"I am what I am
I am my own special creation
So come take a look
Give me the hook or the ovation
It's my world that I want to have a little pride in
My world, and it's not a place I have to hide in
Life's not worth a damn 'til you can say
"Hey world, I am what I am!"

I am what I am
I don't want praise
I don't want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it's noise
I think it's pretty
And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle?
Why not try to see things from a different angle?
Your life is a sham 'til you can shout out loud:
"I am what I am!"

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the ace, sometimes the deuces
There's one life and it's no return and no deposit
One life, so it's time to open up your closet!
Life's not worth a damn 'til you shout
"Hey world, I am what I am!""

Dollypop - Does Sister Selma have a fondness for Twinkies?

...and I stuff them in my shoes. Ha Ha Ha! Oh!

Yeah, I'm ready.

Is the red light on?

Now?

Now?

OK

OhmygoshI'veneverdonethisbefore. HELLO! My name is Matt. I'm a 34 year-old Libra in Chicago. I'm originally from Houston, but I felt I needed a change. I'm a good listener with a warm heart who can be as comfortable sipping a Chai Latte importantly discussing the political ramifications of the beat poetry movement of the 60s at a Starbucks-alternative as I can proudly eating a veal hero in one hand while firing my .45 at empty cans of Busch in the other.

My interests include amateur marching band competitions, paintball, Yanni, all Pointilists except Seraut (too commercial), Mel Tillis, sweet potatoes, Barbi Benson, spinning my own cotton thread, and playing the hammer dulcimer. I love dogs (I have 4) and hermit crabs (3). My favorite movie is In or Out and my favorite TV show is Mamma's Family.

I hope to find someone who will not only join me on the yellow-brick path to love, but will help me repave it as well. He or she must be between the ages of 23 and 47, energetic, kind, thoughtful, obediant, not too smart, a good listener, uglier than me, and have a valid driver's license.

I can't wait to meet you and start our life together.

Oh! And I'm allergic to shellfish.

Is that it?

Do you need anything else?

Is that thing still on?

Thank Isis! I gotta pee like a....
