What's there to do in New York in February? I'm coming in a few weeks with some friends, but I've never been to Manhattan during the winter months.
Usually in May, I would take a warm stroll through Central Park, walk around a blisteringly hot Times Square, sit in the sun in Washington Square Park....all things that I can't do in February. These are quintessentially New York for me, but now I'd like to see what the city has to offer in the winter. Suggestions?

you can now go ice skating in central park instead of strolling.

Go to the NYC and Company visitor center on 52 and 7th when you arrive. They have everything you could possibly need or want.
Some other suggestions:
Pick up:
Where Magazine
In New York magazine
Guest Informant
Citi I Magazine
City Guide
They will give you the top things to do in NYC.
Also pick up NYC and Company visitor guide.
Have fun.
I love NY.

Posted: 1/30/05 at 12:41amI'm coming to NYC in February, actually, and I was curious if anyone knew of any little theaters or Shakespeare companies that will have stuff going on in February? (I know Romeo and Juliet is playing off-broadway, but I'm looking for something a little less done.)

Jwei,
Don't waste your time at BKLYN. It is terrible. There are so many great shows to see.
I loved La Cage. You should try and catch Fiddler with Harvey.
Loved it. Or how about seeing Carly Jibsen in Hairspray.
Better choices then BKLYN.

Winters in NYC suck.
Unless you like the cold.
But, I guess it's the time when one takes advantage of museums. Other than that and Ice Skating (let's not forget Rockefeller Center), there's not a whole helluva lot to do.
