Meanwhile, Corine rushes back out to the sidewalk to injure the other ankle, figuring that keeping *both* legs up will double her chances...

Poor taste as usual Iff.
I am walking with a limp. I don't think this is funny.

Darlin', I've had two broken ankles in the past 15 years and I *always* walk with a limp...
If you think you are really injured, go get it checked out and don't keep walking on it.

I once stubbed my toe running towards a mugging. I feel your pain.
But OMG, Corine, you and Christina Applegate now have so much in common. You should wait by the stage door and ask her what she did.

"What is the best thing for it."
Don't drink so much when you're walking in heels.

For future reference.
Ice it for about 20 minutes every hour for the first few hours, then every two hours for the first day.
On the second day, ice for about 20 minutes every 4 hours.
Keep it bandaged and elevated in between.

Corine,
How is your ankle? Has the swelling subsided? Can you put weight on that foot?

It is still swollen, but I am walking.
It is uncomfortable. I will go to a Doctor Monday if it does not heal.
Thanks Beacon and Harris.
And I fell yesterday afternoon. I was at work. No drinks. I tripped on a pot hole on my way to mail something.

NEVER ice for more than 20 mins out of every hr- can cause tissue damage( do not put directly on skin surface)
Compression is also impt the protocol goes
I-ce
C-ompression
E-elevate ( above level of heart)
R-est
Nsaids also help if no #- I usually recommend Aleve.

Thank you Sabre.
It looks like I have two golf balls on my ankle.
Really weird. But staying home from work today helped.
Working from home rocks!
And I got more done.
