OK, that was hysterical!!

I watched the pageant last night and I thought Venus Raj (Miss Phillippines) was absolutely gorgeous. She blew her final question though.

Big shocker was that USA didn't even make the top 15.

Filipino's do love their pageant gals. But, apparently not more than the Thai's who voted for Miss Thailand for both Miss Photogenic and Best National Costume via web voting. They can't keep a government in power for more than five minutes but they can rally up a storm to have Miss Thailand win in the online polls for Miss Universe.

Doodle, I missed the Miss USA pageant, but watched it online. I watched the first hour of bachelor pad though. What a horrible show. It isn't even remotely interesting (yet I can't turn it off!).

How I miss not discussing the pageant in real time.

I dont think I've missed a MU pageant since I was 17...it's not the same if you know who won, which I found out at 5am this morning.

OK, so another reason to want Lea Salonga back on Broadway is to see these guys watch the Tonys with her as a nominee.

After having lived in the SF Bay Area my whole life, worked at an Asian American publication and volunteered at Pistahan (annual SF Filipino festival) for two years in a row... I can tell you I have NEVER met a Filipino who was not extroverted.

I'm still stunned that there's no thread dedicated to MU 2010, which I watched btw. All Imma say is that Trump has all but ruined that pageant. It's far too political these days. The winner, Miss Mexico, is a beautiful young lady, but she lacked the sparkle of the 4 other finalists IMO. Relative to the others finalists, she's nothing extraordinary.

Miss Philippines blew it at the very end after being tripped up by a question from judge Billy Baldwin. She was the most petite of the finalists and drop-dead gorgeous. I really liked the self confidence exuded by Miss Jamaica. She owned that stage during the swimsuit competition & was my 2nd fave after Miss Philippines.
