Well, Jose, I decided to create a new thread.
I saw it in theatres and bawled. Now I can't get past the funeral scene without having to leave the room.

My mom died when I was 14... Another one of the big crying parts (besides the bench... OMG!) was the part where Sylvia says something like "This is the most proud I've ever been of you" as she hands him teh journal, that she put back together.
Also, my mom took me to see my first play, which was Peter Pan, and the last gift I received from her was the novel Peter Pan, (c) 1910.
Well, my friend had just died right before I saw FN and before, I had been in denial, but while I was watching it, all of my emotions came out.

Yeah.
But it's soooo good! I love the costumes and set for Peter Pan. All the Peter Pans I've seen have been really, really sucky when it comes to design.
One time, it looked like the girl who played Peter Pan was wearing green colored jeans and she was wearing black boots. Itt was really weird.
yeah i think FN deserved so many more oscars. But then again, I dont really care for the Oscars. Dont even get me going on the grammys what a joke. The Academy needs to look at Movies like this and go "wow! what a masterpiece!" not give it one measley award
I'm with you Capn_O.
i was SOBBING the last 20 minutes in the film, and my female friends who were with me were embarressed for me...
Why were they embarrassed for you?
I live in hicktown...
And seeing a grown man cry is too much for people in hicktown?

A cheap manipulative little film whose best written parts were the filmed scenes of Barrie's play.
Made you cry, indeed!
Jose, how exactly is it "cheap and manipulative"? I saw a movie that had genuine emotion, I'm not sure what you saw. I adored this film, bu tthen i've always been obsessed with Peter Pan. I admit, I wish they had stuc kto history a bit more, because the real J.M. Barrie was so interesting, there was no need to change his character. Also, they got rid of one of the sons, Nico and it would have been better if they left the father alive like he was supposed to. Regardless, this was a beautiful film. I'm sorry to say my parents thought it was "boring" ::sigh:::

I have never minded being manipulated and made to feel cheap - which is why I cried as well, I suppose.
Indeed!
I sob at that movie. It reaches into me and tears my heart out. In a worthwhile kind of emotional journey.
I also have the soundtrack, which is one of those which absolutely transports me. Particularly the piano tracks.
it's probably the best movie I've seen in 2005........
It's really shows the talent of Johnny Depp
I love this movie!
I waited a long time to watch it and the wonderful lady I work with gave me her DVD! I ADORE Kate Winslet and the little boy that plays Peter is an incredible actor...I will be watching it again this weekend.
There wasnt a dry eye in the house at the theater I saw this in. Although it was composed mainly of old ladies and myself...

Jose', I have the feeling you just want this thread dead...

Jose... I've had somewhat of a respect for you, until now. You should've kept your comments to yourself.
Anyway, on another note, I remember walking out that theatre and on the way home thinking 'oh my god, Johnny Depp isn't Scottish". The thought never occured to me during the film. Quite a shock.

I cried a bit but I was on a plane when I first saw it so the moment wasn't that appropriate with the turbulence going on.
I cannot watch Kate Winslet die w/o getting emotional.
One of the greatest actors of her generation. Far beyond her peers.
