Posted: 2/21/04 at 7:02pmCNN has reported that the Bush family dog has died. To further complicate matters, AOL reports that President Bush has "lost" his dog. I bet everyone in the White House is frantically searching for that lost, dead dog before it begins to stink.

Namo, that's so coincidental. (Or is there such a thing as coincidence?) I came across that book I mentioned to you THE STRANGE DEATH OF VINCENT FOSTER. I was going to PM to see if you were interested.
And just because a spaniel was found stiff in a dog park doesn't mean he barked up his last tree there.

How's this for way out there?
Some of us, okay...maybe just me, looked upon that certain fateful day in July as the beginning of the vilification of Linda Tripp.

I still can't get over a woman tricking another woman like that. As a feminist trapped inside a homo's body, I'm still astounded.
Did you know that Linda also was the person who attempted to blow the whistle on George Bush I's longtime "special relationship" with Jennifer Fitzgerald? And that Bush I was actually questioned about it by the press? But he "refused to answer such a question that was beneath him?" I've read that that's why Linda found no work after the Monica thing, the Republicans already hated her over the Jennifer Fitzgeral thing. That's what I've read, anyway.

Namo, you know I don't usually become involved in these "political" topic threads. But one thing you learn straight away working in most jobs is to cover your ass. Cuz no one else, especially while pointing a finger at ya, will do it for ya. Deflect and blame are the mantras in government. Sad but true. So I guess if I were in Tripp's situation where a co-worker, no worker is not the correct term, fellow employee were to atempt to draw me into Federal subornation of perjury it would give me pause. It's the intentional lie that always get you.
And as a feminist one should be outragged by the "twinkies" in the workplace whose only skills are on their knees. While the true feminist carry the workload others volunteer to make a special "pizza" delivery. The resentment from feminist towards the Monicas of the world is palpable.

Posted: 2/22/04 at 7:21ametoile, I am almost with you on this. My problem is that I don't, for a minute, see Linda Tripp's motivation as being inspired by feminist principles. While it's true that the Monicas of the world anger me, so do the lazy co-workers of the world...the ones who marginally put in their time and not a second more....the ones who do the minimum job requirements and nothing extra, ..the ones for whom someone else must pick up the slack while no one in management seems to notice. (YES, I have issues...lol) But I can't, for a moment, imagine luring...no entrapping...someone into thinking I was befriending her, and then selling her out so publicly. The Monicas of the world, abundant in supply as they may be, are pathetic and unenlightened, and, yes, deserving of scorn from other women who have worked so hard to be taken seriously. But the actions of Linda Tripp, who violated personal trust which she went out of her way to cultivate, offends me on a more basic level. I despise her as a human.

Posted: 2/22/04 at 10:23amMy take on the relationship is that it intitally stemmed from a needy predator wanting to confide in, brag to someone else who was getting a vicarious thrill listening to the escapades. (Please, would you, would anyone, seek out a Linda Tripp for relationship advice? A Samantha she aint.) I think Tripp hung on every word until she realized she was being drawn into a conspiracy. Then, being the long term government employee she was, she realized she was treading water in over her head and desperately needed some water wings. She wasn't believed in the past over the Foster incident and knew she needed more than her word. Tripp was not motivated by any principle other than covering her own butt.

It is time to put Monica to bed.
I thought it was over with her.
#17re: re: First dog dies
Posted: 2/22/04 at 11:32amBut really, isn't the Monica/Linda stuff a tad more interesting than dead dog repartee' (may he rest in peace)? The points etoile brought up are well worth consideration.

Posted: 2/22/04 at 1:46pmThe deceased is still "lost" according to AOL News. That White House staff must not be too diligent. They better hurry up and find the dog so that they can bury it.
