Fois Gras...

Hot or not?
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

re: Fois Gras...

Very hot, especially paired with a Cotes-du-Rhone.

California has or is passing a law that will forbid the production of foie gras by the year 2011 (or thereabouts).

re: Fois Gras...

That is because they overfeed the animals to expand their livers so that the foie gras has a fuller taste.

I also have an expanded liver.

re: Fois Gras...

Whole Foods has a mousse trufee that at about $4.99, substitutes nicely with some camambert and a baguette when the real deal isn't an option.

On a side note- NYC is turning into an LA shopping mall. The Time Warner Center just feels completely bizarre. You could be in any suburban mall...

I prefer caviar.
And it does not have to be the beluga.
I even love the 7 dollar container at fairway.

Do not underestimate the influence of BWW. I had a lovely pan seared fois gras with apricot glaze tonight because of this thread. Tasty!

re: Fois Gras...

I had the best rice pudding of my entire life at a company dinner.
The meal was blah. The dessert intense. So much for fitting into my dress.

re: Fois Gras...

The lamb chops were also fabulous. I almost ordered the veal. PETA would have had a fit.

I love rice pudding and bread pudding.

re: Fois Gras...

If you love rice pudding you have to try it at the Cuban restaurant next to Hairspray.
My Shrimp were mediocre at best. But my rice pudding was smooth, creamy, SCRUMPTIOUS!

I am so in love with this thread!

Corine Looking up at your other posts. I have a regrettable allergy to fish so caviar, etc., is excluded. I was at a "fancy" party recently and I made feax caviar without the eggs.
