Ha. I used to use that number as one of my "up tempo" audition tunes.
"Come up and see the hoot we're giving..."

Posted: 8/11/06 at 11:09amI'm actually doing a production of THE APPLE TREE right now in the Larry Blyden role (Snake/Baladeer/Narrator). I gotta tell ya, I wish that I could have seen Barbara Harris in this show on Broadway!

My very first boyfriend, when I was 15 and in a combination summer stock/summer camp, was a ballet dancer who played The Snake.
I don't think I've ever gotten over his "Forbidden Fruit." Or ever will.

Hahahaha - PalJoey
We are doing it as a staged concert a la City Center ENCORES! but I would love to see a full fledged production of it done as well. It's a rather entertaining piece and it has some good music even though some of it is more difficult to sing than it sounds.

Posted: 8/11/06 at 9:04pmI love the theme of Tozy and Cosh so much I think I've got to pop in my DVD of Streisand now.

Can't find The Apple Tree on iTunes but I'll keep working on it.

How did I miss this? I musta gone to Chicago or something.
Yes, Withouta, I was too young to have seen Barbara Harris in anything except the movie Nashville. But I memorized her very inflections on the OC's of Apple Tree and On a Clear Day, and I met my first boyfriend at 15 in a production of The Apple Tree. He was a ballet dancer and he was playing the Snake...but I threadjack.
Glebb--did you ever find The Apple Tree? Do you need to borrow mine?
