By millions who drift by
Hurry, it's lovely up here!
First time Barbara Harris listener.
Nice!
A Barbara Harris virgin?
Get thee to The Apple Tree, immediately!
Ha. I used to use that number as one of my "up tempo" audition tunes.
"Come up and see the hoot we're giving..."
If I were going to buy The Apple Tree on iTunes tonight I should get Barbara and not Kristin?
Good line Flip!
I'm actually doing a production of THE APPLE TREE right now in the Larry Blyden role (Snake/Baladeer/Narrator). I gotta tell ya, I wish that I could have seen Barbara Harris in this show on Broadway!
My very first boyfriend, when I was 15 and in a combination summer stock/summer camp, was a ballet dancer who played The Snake.
I don't think I've ever gotten over his "Forbidden Fruit." Or ever will.
Hahahaha - PalJoey
We are doing it as a staged concert a la City Center ENCORES! but I would love to see a full fledged production of it done as well. It's a rather entertaining piece and it has some good music even though some of it is more difficult to sing than it sounds.
I love the theme of Tozy and Cosh so much I think I've got to pop in my DVD of Streisand now.
Barbara Harris is da bomb!
What a personality!
What a voice!
Can't find The Apple Tree on iTunes but I'll keep working on it.
PalJoey, did you see B. Harris in ON A CLEAR DAY?
Well PalJoey liked musicals from very early on!
Barbara Harris is mighty appealing.
Would love to know about her, her performance.
Anyone?
Next thing I knew we were cruising
On the S.S.Bernard Cohn.
Bumped in case PalJoey didn't see.
How did I miss this? I musta gone to Chicago or something.
Yes, Withouta, I was too young to have seen Barbara Harris in anything except the movie Nashville. But I memorized her very inflections on the OC's of Apple Tree and On a Clear Day, and I met my first boyfriend at 15 in a production of The Apple Tree. He was a ballet dancer and he was playing the Snake...but I threadjack.
Glebb--did you ever find The Apple Tree? Do you need to borrow mine?
Thanks PalJoey.
No Apple Tree yet but no rush.
I'm loving BH in Clear Day.
She must have been too adorable and loveable.
LOL! Even back then?
She's fab in Peggy Sue Got Married too.
On the S. S.

Loved Barbara in "The Seduction of Joe Tynan" with Alan Alda and our fave, la Streep. Barbara shoulda been nominated. Way underrated flick and performances by Babs and Meryl.

When we saw DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Wednesday night, I couldn't help but miss her!
"Oh - LADY Fanny of Omaha!"
She was a fine Fanny!
