Re: OTHER DESERT CITIES reviews (Hudson) - Louis-Dreyfus, Harris, Janney, Keery, and Rabe

For the upcoming matinee this Saturday, October 24, there are single tickets available on the official website for $1,118.88 and $1,342.88. I absolutely loved the show, but these prices are completely insane.

I want to echo what BroadwayBen said. I was there last night and what a treat it was to revisit this play. I had seen the original production eight times and I still think it is the best written play of the last 15 years. The new cast was excellent and yes, still need to further hone the cadence/rhythm, but this deserves to be a smash hit. Even if audiences are initially enticed to see this for Dreyfus or Janney, I am so happy that more audiences will get to experience this brilliant work. Sm...

The cheapest seat should be $49 instead of $99. I have a feeling these prices may go down. Truly insane what they are asking for initially.

I ate at Cafe Fiorello four months ago before I saw a performance of Ragtime. Really hope it doesn't close. It is such a great restaurant with outstanding food.

"I Have Confidence" and "Something Good" were both in the 1998 revival. "How Can Love Survive" and "No Way to Stop It" were also included in the 1998 revival. "An Ordinary Couple," unfortunately, was cut.It will be interesting to see how they treat this Lincoln Center revival. I hope they include all songs!

"I vaguely remember his post covid Mr. Saturday night show cheapest mezzanine tickets were selling for way over $100 during presale. Later of course the prices corrected themselves according to the demand, but yeah, there were no cheap options at first for his show."You are correct. When tickets first went on sale, nearly the entire mezz was $149 or $199. It was completely insane and tickets did not move at all at that price point. I ended up seeing it in early previews on tdf in the front mezz.

She was scheduled to perform in tonight’s show up until 5:15pm this afternoon. I was supposed to attend tonight’s performance, but opted to get a refund instead. This would have been my fourth time seeing the show.

Beaches reviews

"They did average over 1,000 people per performance last week (8,345 total). But that was partially high due to opening night being nearly sold out."I was there opening night with a friend. We were in the center rear mezz and had an entire row to ourselves, as did the two ladies in the row in front of us. I'd say the front and rear mezzanine combined was about 2/3 full, and that might be generous. It was definitely not even close to being sold out on opening night, which was kind of sad to wi...

CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread

When I saw the show for a second time with my best friend since second grade, during the final moments of "Anthem," she grabbed my arm and we both had this emotional wave come over us. It was one of those moments that really hits hard and perfectly encapsulates the incredible power of live theater. It's fascinating that people seem to be going to Chess to see Lea Michele and Aaron Tveit, but are leaving Chess talking about how wonderful Nicholas Christopher is.

In a show full of brilliant standout moments, "Anthem" is probably the best one of them all. I have a feeling I'm going to be listening to this recording quite often.

Whoopi has dyslexia. She has spoken about it many times on The View. She often fumbles with celebrity names as she reads them on the teleprompter every week, however she always means well. And the way she praised the show was so great to hear. I can't wait to see it again soon!

Lena Hall was VERY over the top with riffs and vocal gymnastics during the 2022 benefit concert at the Broadhurst (as was Solea). If she is the replacement, I hope she tones it down. It'll be interesting to see if this sells at all without Lea Michele.

Bridges of Madison County Reunion Concert

Dec 16, 2025 — 1:14:04 PM

I was there last night as well. Saw it twice on Broadway back in 2014 and LOVED it both times. Last night was magical. Kelli and Steven sounded glorious. How is it possible that Kelli has maintained her voice so incredibly over the past 21 years when I was first introduced to her on a Broadway stage? There really are no words to describe how outstanding "Almost Real" was. She deserves to have at least three Tony awards by now. I love Jason Robert Brown's Tony-award winning score so much, feel...
