"Assuming it's not a misprint, is the average ticket price for Celebrity Autobiography of $15.22 a new record low?"
The Blonde in the Thunderbird, which ran for three weeks in summer 2005, had an average ticket price of $11.02 in its second week.

Drama League Awards 2026 May 15 2026, 02:38:25 PM
Congratulations to Joshua Henry for winning the Drama League Distinguished Performance Award for 2026. Definitely the best performance of the season. Well deserved!
And Ragtime also won Revival of a Musical and Direction of a Musical. Glad that this brilliant show is finally getting the credit it deserves!

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews May 5 2026, 06:45:11 PM
She was scheduled to perform in tonight’s show up until 5:15pm this afternoon. I was supposed to attend tonight’s performance, but opted to get a refund instead. This would have been my fourth time seeing the show.

Beaches reviews May 1 2026, 09:12:39 AM
"They did average over 1,000 people per performance last week (8,345 total). But that was partially high due to opening night being nearly sold out."
I was there opening night with a friend. We were in the center rear mezz and had an entire row to ourselves, as did the two ladies in the row in front of us. I'd say the front and rear mezzanine combined was about 2/3 full, and that might be generous. It was definitely not even close to being sold out on opening night, w

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews May 1 2026, 08:54:51 AM
I saw the ballet sequence at the first preview and was very sad to hear it had been cut less than a week later. Glad it was preserved here. Really beautiful.

CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread Apr 3 2026, 02:32:01 PM
When I saw the show for a second time with my best friend since second grade, during the final moments of "Anthem," she grabbed my arm and we both had this emotional wave come over us. It was one of those moments that really hits hard and perfectly encapsulates the incredible power of live theater. It's fascinating that people seem to be going to Chess to see Lea Michele and Aaron Tveit, but are leaving Chess talking about how wonderful Nicholas Christopher is.

CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread Apr 3 2026, 08:58:57 AM
In a show full of brilliant standout moments, "Anthem" is probably the best one of them all. I have a feeling I'm going to be listening to this recording quite often.

RAGTIME 2025 Reviews Mar 26 2026, 03:26:37 PM
Whoopi has dyslexia. She has spoken about it many times on The View. She often fumbles with celebrity names as she reads them on the teleprompter every week, however she always means well. And the way she praised the show was so great to hear. I can't wait to see it again soon!

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews Mar 20 2026, 11:57:02 AM
Lena Hall was VERY over the top with riffs and vocal gymnastics during the 2022 benefit concert at the Broadhurst (as was Solea). If she is the replacement, I hope she tones it down.
It'll be interesting to see if this sells at all without Lea Michele.

PROOF takes Booth Theatre; Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Join Cast Mar 17 2026, 01:10:15 PM
"Should we expect Kara Young to receive a Best Featured Actress in a Play nomination for the fifth year in a row? Or even a third consecutive win?"
This was my very first thought. The nomination streak can now continue!

Bridges of Madison County Reunion Concert Dec 16 2025, 01:14:04 PM
I was there last night as well. Saw it twice on Broadway back in 2014 and LOVED it both times. Last night was magical. Kelli and Steven sounded glorious. How is it possible that Kelli has maintained her voice so incredibly over the past 21 years when I was first introduced to her on a Broadway stage? There really are no words to describe how outstanding "Almost Real" was. She deserves to have at least three Tony awards by now. I love Jason Robert Brown's Tony

CHESS Previews Oct 16 2025, 12:53:01 PM
Just to reiterate what some have said, Lea's "American Idol riffing" last night was definitely minimal and did not take away from the impact of the songs. She sounded great. When I saw the benefit with Lena Hall and Solea Pfeiffer, I thought both of them riffed a bit too excessively. Admittedly, I am partial to Judy Kuhn's perfection on the OBCR.
Nicholas Christopher was really the star last night though. I was truly blown away at how incredible he was. Anthem was

Cats: The Jellicle Ball to Broadway Oct 14 2025, 12:33:32 PM
"Use the pre-sale code see what tickets are available, then click "remove" on the left hand side of your screen. You can still see the available tickets and purchase. In my case the tickets would have been $195 with the code but were $165 without."
Thank you so much for this information. I bought three tickets and this tip saved me $60. Odd that the prices are different with and without the code.

Chicago The Musical Appreciation Thread Sep 26 2025, 06:58:39 PM
I got a single rush ticket for last night's performance about 10 minutes before curtain. Orchestra, Row H, seat 12. Did not have a problem at the box office at all. Mira, despite some hesitancy in her dancing, won me over by the end. I've seen Chicago 8 times post-pandemic and 23 times overall and it rarely disappoints. I'm glad that they continue to stunt cast Roxie to give us New Yorkers a reason to return. And at $49 a pop, it's always worth it.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/17/25 Aug 19 2025, 06:56:44 PM
"Jeff Ross' show ticket price is the lowest i have ever seen......"
This seems like a good time for me to bring up one of my biggest joys in life - The Blonde in the Thunderbird - which ran from July 8, 2005 through July 23, 2005. I attended the first preview via tdf and was probably the only person in the audience who paid (tdf was probably around $40 at the time).
For the three weeks that this show ran, the average ticket prices were $19.49, $11.02 and $1

Can I permenantly disable audio autoplay when I click on a "latest news" article here? May 30 2025, 05:54:07 PM
I, too, have just noticed this today and really want to know how to disable it. I've already tried a few things in my chrome browser, but nothing seems to work. It is highly frustrating!

Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher in 2025 Chess Revival! May 28 2025, 02:55:16 PM
"Someone Else's Story is in this version of the show, but for Svetlana not Florence , and I believe ( but could be wrong so happy to be corrected) the only time Florence has sung it is the original Broadway production. Ever since then it's been given to Svetlana, as in the 2008 London concert and now this production."
Carolee Carmello, as Florence, sang Someone Else's Story in the 1990 touring company. And Judy McLane, as Florence, sang Someone Else's Stor
