thanks you guys...i'm like freakin out.
I'm just popping in for a minute before I shower, change and run off again. *flop* I babysit for a four year old girl and seven year old boy; today they were unusually uncooperative and whiny, but I still have some funny stories.
The little girl was telling me that sometimes her brother uses bad language, like "ass." So he goes "I'm gonna kick some ass!" and his sister was like "yeah. MY ass." She's four!!
Then he was (for reasons unknown) whacking my abdominal area with a book. The little girl looks up at me and goes "he's hitting your vagina, you know."
And finally, while we were out walking, the boy looks at me and goes "lift up your shirt?"
heh. Yeah. What a day.
Congrats, Guido!
wow Emcee, that's rough. =)

Emcee- I used to work at a daycare and babysit some of the kids that went there. You story reminded me of this.
A 3 year olds (Oliva) mother was obsessive about her learning words early and especially body parts.
I was changing her little brothers diaper and Oliva points to his p*nis and says excitedly "That's Zachary's p*nis!" and I said "Yes it is." She then pointed to her v*gina and said "I don't have a p*nis, I have a v*gina" I again said "Yes it is" She then goes to pull down my pants and I say "Olivia, what are you doing?! That is not nice" She says "You got p*nis or v*gina?"
I'm all for kids learning early and stuff but to know that stuff at 3? Come on!
I just woke up from my usual hour of deep unconsciousness. I never used to be able to nap so well, anyhow, my contacts are not going back to their usual spots yet.

Canadian-
I used to take naps with my contacts and once it literally got stuck in the back of my eye. I literally had to like peel it out. It was gross.
I've heard stories that people had to get surgery because they slept with their contact and it got stuck and they couldn't see. Be careful!
Just a friendly reminder
Yes, my mom is constantly telling me not to sleep in them. I don't sleep overnight in them, just my naps after work, it just seems like so much effort to take them out :p
Ooo, I hear pounding downstairs, that means pork tenderloin .
Q, My hair is nautrally black. But, I used to higlight it with color all the time. My last three were; Copper, Flame Red, Deep Dark Burgandy Brown(Which I loved ,but had to undo beacuse of Hello Dolly). Now it's good a natural off black color and hasn't been died since.

Black hair?
I've never known anyone with like pure black hair well, unless your black (African American.)
Or...maybe you are in which I expect black hair.
Didn't we once have a discussion on which people prefer better? Black or African American.
Ok- so this has like 3 banal topics in it. haha
Asian and hispanic people have black hair too.
My hair color is really dark. Some people think it's black but it's just a really dark brown.

It's true about Asian and hispanic people have black hair too but actaully, 1 of my hispanic friends has brown hair- actually lighter than mine which is a dark brown.
native-americans also have black hair, as do Pacific Islanders, and black-Irish, and probably every other culture as well
Yes, I'm black (African American) either term is fine. Ha Ha.

aha! Well, that explains that!
All my confusion is gone- (not that I really had any)
That works. It also explains why the director thought that red highlights were a bad thing on stage in the 1890's.

I've never fully got an answer or does it depend on the person, do you prefer black or African-American? No racism at all in here just curious. I never know which to use but I usualy use African-American. I'm always get scared if I find out they aren't from Africa. To go along with the hair thing I have really dark brown hair and a lot of people think it is black too!

I have the same problem. I don't know whether to use "black" or "African American"- especially if they are not from Africa.
I usually use African American but I guess it depends on the person which means- you can offend someone easily.
ok so PM-ing the people who i thought would know didn't work, if anyone could tell me how to obtain the recording of the musical Dracula, i'd appreciate it. PM me if you've got any info. thanks all.
I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm just don't care, I'm not easily offended. It's the way I was raised.

soapguy-
Could you possibly teach other people that? Some of us can't read minds and know whether some people prefer (or will be offended using...) "black" or "African American" and therefore, we become afraid to use either word.

Well that's good. The thing is most people I know who are white aren't offended if they are called white. I always thoguht that it was the same way for (not sure what to say now) black people as well. Then I kinda got into this discussion and learned to think about it before I say it. I'll stop now, I'm confusing myself.

Well, technically 'white' is "Caucasian" but that is rarely used.
*shrugs*
