Posted: 8/31/06 at 6:31pmWhy do professors think it's perfectly alright to e-mail a reading assignment consisting of one novel, a collection of essays, and a few supplemental papers 4 days before it's due? Especially when I'm going to be spending 2 of those days packing, moving, and unpacking myself into college? ARGH.

Good luck, Plum. I have no answer to your question, though.
So, I'm listening to "Madamina, Il Catalogo E Questo ('Catalogue Aria')" from Don Giovanni. And, um, I just want to post my adoration for Teddy Tahu Rhodes voice. *swoon*

Posted: 8/31/06 at 6:38pmFor the same reason my university thinks it's perfectly alright to email me today saying "Turn in Form X by tomorrow or you will be suspended at the end of the semester." I had never received Form X, nor received any previous notice about the existance of Form X until this ultimatum. I went to the office and filled it out, but geez, way to give someone a heart attack.

Posted: 8/31/06 at 6:40pm*snerk* My school loves to send us gigantic tuition bills, threaten all kinds of unspoken horrors if we don't pay up, and suddenly remember at the end that those numbers don't account for loans or financial aid, since surely we can make those calculations ourselves. Pure class.

Thank God I have plans tonight. Thank. God.
I don't drink, but about three times in the past week and a half, I have seriously considered just going and doing it, and getting completely and totally wasted -- for various reasons. I know I'd hate myself the next morning, so I don't, but it just looks so appealing when you're stressed out. Of course, two of those three times I was with my family and they were the ones stressing me out, heh.

I understand exactly, Em.
Ugh, I want to scream. U left three summer reading books and 3 essays to this week. I read The Great Gatsby, did the essay, read A Doll House, and now I need to start Ethan Frome and do those two essays . . . . HELP!

I'm watching football!!
And cleaning my room.
And I've reconsidered asking out the guy I work with. I'm just worried I'll be disappointed once I find out what he's like outside of work. But I hope I'm not.

Posted: 8/31/06 at 8:18pmI'm bored tonight with nothing to do. No one is online on my buddy list besides a few people who I don't think even have my screen name or haven't talked to in years!

It's probably a bad sign when it's still August and I'm already shivering from the weather here, no?
I have nothing to do tonight and nothing to distract me tonight, which means I don't have any more excuses not to unpack. Bleh.

Hi soap!! How's school going?
I'm in the midst of reading "Savage Inequalities" and beginning to do a project. It's a group project but in the past, it hasn't been "group effort" and since I want a good grade, I sort of have to do the work on my own. blah.
