re: For a person you loved deeply...

No.

Because the love I have in my life comes not only from the beautiful man I share my life with, but also the incredibly friends I've made. And am I the only one here who has a good relationship with his family?

In the end, I know he would never ask me to do such a think...nor would I ask him.

No! I spent a week with snooty Fire Island queens, and visited my 3 yr old nephew on the way home. He says i'm his best friend--how could you leave that?

in a minute...if there is true love AND the chance to live in a different culture -- sure -- there are always airplanes to get back home -- our world is not so large anymore and if you find real love, don't let it go....

Funny you should ask.....

This is exactly what Jarico and I are trying to accomplish, but until one of our countries grant immigration rights to same-sex spouses, it is nearly impossible. Spain does not grant Visas to those of non-Spanish descent and finding a job in the US for non-residents is incredibly difficult.

I would move for the right person..... as long as I didn't have to comprimise me larger dreams..d oing that leads to bad relationship moments.

re: For a person you loved deeply...

broadwayguy2 - All relationships require compromises, but the good relationships are the ones in which the dreams are shared. That took a long time for me to figure out. And when true love comes along, it is possible that your priorities change. And I don't mean to the point of codependency, but in a way that changes how you view your future.

re: For a person you loved deeply...

I moved 400 miles from my friends and family to be w/ my partner. Not as big a sacrifice as moving to a new country, but a sacrifice just the same.

re: For a person you loved deeply...

oh, I know that SOO well matt. I had to write that post REALLY quickly.. I wanted it to be longer.

Shared dreams are SOO important, but prioriies change..as you said.Wha I meant was that if you are in arelationship and you have adream, and your partner pressures you to put that dream aside, even when you don't want to... and you give in.It should be YOUR choice..not something you are pressured into.If you are pressured into it, the resentment builds and poisons the relationship.

re: For a person you loved deeply...

I would give up a lot for someone I loved deeply (and have before). I don't know that I could give up EVERYTHING in my life but I would certainly compromise in order to keep a life I thought worth keeping.

Unless you're not allowed to sublet. Some buildings don't allow it. Trust me.

re: For a person you loved deeply...

i think more woman than men would make that sacrifice. I think men expect women to move to them. That's why it's difficult when gay men live in seperate parts of the country. Both often expect the other to make the sacrifice,
