For those who care

I've not been on much in the past couple of months, for work and personal reasons.

So for those of us who care about each other (and you all know who you are) I wanted to let you know what is going on.

My father is in the hospital. He's been slowly going downhill since my Mom died, and finally in the last couple of weeks has fallen numerous times, and finally a neighbor called 911 a week ago.
My sister and I flew up this past Monday. He entered the hospital Sunday night, and stayed until yesterday when he went to a rehab facility. We are here until Wednesday, and hope to have a better idea what is going on by then. He appears to have given up mentally, but the doctor says his body has not, so we'll see what happens.
I've also been focusing more on my job as I went from having a 3 state territory to a 13 state territory and am traveling much more than ever, and it's taking its toll.
So I am trying to juggle homelife, work, and Dad.....and frankly there are times I just want to run and hide, but then I remember my sister stayed up here 4 months after my mom died, (and worked, took cafe of my Dad, and other things)so I figure I can get through this.

I just didn't want anyone to think I am skipping out of BWW...not my style, and I've made many good friends here. I've also met a lot of kooks, but hey they make things interesting.

Anyway just wanted to say hi, and let those I care about that I am still here.

Although the aspects of your life may seem somewhat overwhelming right now, please know that time can be made for all things. Anyone as intelligent as you obviously are can successfully handle these situations. Best of luck to you, your father, your homelife and your career.

There are so many things in this world more important than BWW, but it can be a good place to keep in touch and vent to friends. If we can't help in person, we can certainly support you in spirit.

The hardest times are when you look around and it seems like there's nothing good or easy or happy or beautiful anywhere you look.

So you just keep on going on, because when you've lost all hope and least expect them, they do come back.

well....it went from bad to worse to better....he got very ill in rehab, staph they think (morons the lot of them as some say shingles, and some say other things) so he was sent to emergency and back to the original hospital where he got rehydrated, and actually yesterday he was awake most of the day, and we talked for the first time in years.....really talked.
So today he was on drugs for a procedure, and was in a great mood...until he thought he was at our old house in Saratoga, CA (25 years ago) and asked if he should go upstairs....and then asked "Where's your Mother?"
My sister and I froze, and then he remembered and said 'Oh God" and got very upset...only to be up again an hour later.
He keeps saying weird things out of the blue, like the paradigmn on his chest, or asking for someone named Chicken Helen, which gave me and my sister the giggles....and then he started when we realized he was reading CNA Helen (certified nursing assistant) as Chicken Helen on the white board.

He keeps hearing music no one else hears....

He goes back to rehab tomorrow.....I extended the trip two days til Friday when I can FINALLY go back to 83 degrees......39 and lots of rain here.
My sister is staying until April 10
