Fox News and it's Racist problem

Yeah, but they really get offended when you call them racists. Nothing new. Obama was called a Tar Baby this week,Limbuagh once again played the racist song on his show, "Barack the Magic Negro", Pat Buchanan while talking to Al Sharpton referred to Obama has "Your Boy" and this has just been in the past week.Despite the numerous examples of pure racism, they get upset when they are called out on it.

ANYONE who gets their news from FOX is a idiot. This is a fact. Numerous polls show that Fox Viewers are the most misinformed audience out there. They hear the news they want to hear and Fox delivers. Look at the Murdoch owned New York Post. The Anthony Weiner scandal was headline news for weeks but the Ensign scandal was mentioned briefly on page 28. Fox has barely discussed the Phone hacking scandals. If there is a Republican scandal Fox ignores or downplays it. A Democrat scandal gets full attention and coverage 24/7.

Fox is not fair, balanced,or even news. They are in fact hateful racists and this is just a typical day for them. If you criticize them then you are the liberal media.

Is there anything that can be done about their motto? The whole "fair and balanced" thing? Isn't that false advertisement?

Fox News and it's Racist problem

FWIW, Buchanan generally disgusts me, but I do not think the "Your boy" comment, while disrespectful and demeaning, was intended to be racist. I think he would have said the comment regardless of Obama's race.

But, that's just me.

As to to the main point, the Fox Nation website is disgusting, and is not evening trying to hide its racist dog whistles.

Should we really be surprised when Fox News does something racist?

Fox News and its Racist problem

I have occasionally tried to watch Fox News to get a different slant on the news than I get from CNN which is my main source of news. But I get so mad that I have to change channels. And it is no wonder that Fox has had precious little to say about the phone hacking scandal in England: media pig Rupert Murdoch, at the center of the scandal, owns Fox News!

Fox News and its Racist problem

It's not easy, but you can find responsible journalism on Fox. It's pretty much limited to Shepard Smith. Beyond that, it's the facade of journalists who just happen to speak in the same taling points as the far right fringe of the GOP.

Talking about racism, let us not forget MSNBC prpoposed hiring of Al Sharpton . The good Rev is really fair & balanced - not.

What's you point Roxy? Are you saying MSNBC is racist for hiring AL Sharpton? Al is just as fair and balanced as the pundits at Fox. Is that really the best you can come up with?

I guess Roxy agrees that Fox "News" is not a news channel.

MSNBC does not claim to be a news channel. It is opinion/commentary, and advertises as such. Nowhere does it claim to be "Fair and Balanced."

Fox News and its Racist problem

One thing I love is how Rachel Maddow brings Michael Steele on to her show and they argue but are always civil. I disagree with Steele but since seeing him on MSNBC I have grown to like him a bit more than I did.Rachel said on either a talk show or an interview that she really likes Michael as a person and enjoys debating him. She has said similar things about Pat Buchanan. So, the very fact that Rachel can have some conservatives on her show and be fair and let them speak their view shows that her show at least is more fair and balanced than Fox will ever be.

Jon Stewart was on The O'Reilly Factor and they had to reedit the interview because Jon was making too many valid points and being honest. That is the difference.

Fox News and its Racist problem

I've caught a few minutes of Sharpton here and there, and he was surprisingly less annoying than I expected. He was well prepared and polite, not at all the blowhard I expected. Not sure that I'll be able to stand him in large doses, but at least for now, I'll resist the reflexive reaction to change channels when I see him onscreen.

Sorry, but Sharpton *is* a blowhard. He came down here to pontificate during the Duke Lacross team dust-up, in which he declared, in no uncertain terms, that the boys were guilty guilty guilty and should be thrown into prison for life without parole... and then when it was revealed that the woman making the accusations hadnt exactly been square with the truth (well, more like on a far distant tangent), Sharpton was, of course, nowhere to be seen. Never bothered to apologize for his fat mouth.
