Posted: 6/28/04 at 7:26pmIch spreche auch Deutsch! Wieviele Leute hier auch Deutsch sprechen? I habe in Lüneburg Universität Deutsche studiert.

Ich kann Deutsch. Sorta.
Et je peut parle un peu de francais.
Si necesito, puedo hablar el espanol.
For those Francophones - anyone who has Eddie Izzard's "Dress To Kill" dvd should watch the uncut Paris taping. Much funnier than the San Fran.
I'm going to go start a German thread. Because I'm going to get out of practice if I don't.

Herr Matt -

Deutsch = German
(Sorry honey, I don't know any Dutch.
And just a hunch, but I'm guessing you don't know any German.)

Haha, good point there FF.
So I see you speak German (from what I can gather you studied in school?) and you also studied Italian later on in Rome. But you are best in English?
Oh well, its not like I know. I need to work on my Yiddish.
re: Francais#14
Posted: 7/1/04 at 7:44amJe parle un peu français aussi, mais je n'ai pas étudier français pour deux années. (Do I use the masculine form of year instead? I can't remember.)

Nice job, Shira.
Quite the quick study you are.
And I think this proves something I've said before:
Italian and German are easy.
And since I have no clue what Gunn just said, another point has been proven:
French is nonsense.

French may sound like nonsense to you, but are you going to think a guy speaking in French or a guy speaking to you in German is sexier? Let's use the phrase "I love your hair".
Je t'adore les cheveaux. (French)
Ich liebe Ihr Haar. (German)

What are you saying, Gunn?
You think your language is sexier?
Let me point something out now.
I have no idea how to pronounce that French monstrousity you typed.
But the German one?
Piece of cake.
Simple, forward, forceful.
Gets right to the point.
I'm just saying...
It's always nice to meet a man who knows what he wants.
re: Francais#18
Posted: 7/1/04 at 8:59amJust because you don't know a language does not negate it's beauty. German can be very beautiful, specifically when it is sung. I have sung many many different languages and I find French to be the most romantic. I have sung in French, Latin, German, Hebrew, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, several different African languages, and I am sure there are many more I am forgetting. I have sung them. Not saying I am fluent in the languages or anything. I am just saying I can appreciate their beauty. And the closest I can get to the correct pronunciation is Jeh (as in Ghiradelli) tah door lay sheh veuh.

Thanks for the pronunciation lesson.
I'd like to point out that I never questioned the beauty of any language.
I just defended the sexiness of one of them.

Posted: 7/1/04 at 8:20pmI just realized that the only French I know I learned from the song "Lady Marmalade", and I'm guessing I shouldn't be using that in Canada any time soon...
